Chesterton International GmbH is looking for a full-time, Human Resources Manager based out of our Rödinghausen, Germany office! (Requires at least 1 day of on-site work, with 4 days of remote work).

Job Summary:

Implement and direct all HR operations in assigned region. These operations include employee training, compensation, job evaluation, performance, and disciplinary processes as well as recruitment, benefits and organizational development programs. Ensure compliance with all regional and country-specific employment laws. This position reports to the Regional VP/MD with a centralized HR direction from Headquarters HR.

Responsibilities:

  • Continuously drive performance management program participation and quality performance appraisals in the region.
  • Develop channels for presenting information to and obtaining information from employer, including local language translations as appropriate.
  • Counsel managers/ supervisors about appropriate employee disciplinary actions and conduct investigations into employee misconduct.
  • Develop and direct regional Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper compliance with employment laws relating to hiring, promotion, compensation and termination of employees as well as safety and environmental laws.
  • Direct and administer compensation and benefits programs.
  • Partner with external vendors, including those related to payroll, employee services, benefits and third country employment agencies.
  • Develop and direct employment strategies and plans.

Complexity of Duties:

  • Interacts with internal/external contacts/customers at all levels of the organization.
  • Erroneous decisions or recommendations would normally result in delays and modifications to projects or operations, cause substantial expenditure of time and potentially jeopardize future business activity.
  • Manage and control budget.
  • Acts as a staff advisor to management for Human Resources issues.

Qualification Requirements:

Minimum of B.S. degree or equivalent in related field AND

  • Fluent in German and English.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage people.
  • Thorough understanding of Human Resources programs, policies and procedures.
  • Problem solving skills, decision making and planning abilities.
  • Organization skills.
