Job Title: HSE Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Turner Lovell are seeking a dedicated and experienced HSE Manager for a role in Germany. The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management into project planning and execution. This role involves collaborating closely with the Project Management team to ensure HSE considerations are embedded in all project phases. The HSE Manager will develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Key responsibilities include liaising with clients and subcontractors, identifying potential hazards, conducting risk assessments, and developing strategies to mitigate risks. The HSE Manager will also lead training programs, investigate incidents, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the Project Management team to integrate HSE requirements into project plans and schedules.
- Develop and update HSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Identify potential hazards and risks in project activities, assess their impact, and develop strategies to mitigate or eliminate them.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international HSE regulations and standards, as well as internal policies.
- Develop and conduct training programs to educate project teams on safety protocols, quality standards, and environmental responsibilities.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and environmental breaches, and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety and environmental performance and use data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess HSE compliance, prepare reports on findings, and communicate results to project management, employees, and relevant stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong understanding of local, state, federal, and international HSE regulations and standards relevant to the industry.
- Ability to communicate clearly with the Senior Management Team, Project Managers, Clients, and subcontractors.
- Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and identifying potential hazards, along with the ability to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Experience in developing, updating, and communicating HSE policies and procedures.
- Experience in conducting internal audits, inspections, and assessments to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Ability to lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in HSE practices and foster innovation in safety.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare HSE reports, and present findings to project management and relevant stakeholders.
- Certification in German "Occupational Safety Practices" and SiGeKo certification would be advantageous.
- Proficiency in English and German (spoken and written).
