HR Business Partner – Cologne / Köln

Here’s a summary of the role:

Are you a strategic HR Business Partner passionate about driving business growth? This is your opportunity to shape the people strategy, build strong relationships, and be a trusted advisor to leaders in a dynamic, global organization. You'll navigate complex employee relations, lead talent initiatives, and contribute to the success of our Cologne team.

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):

  1. Partnering with business leaders to develop and embed the people strategy and strengthen our culture, aligned to business needs and goals.
  2. Developing strong, credible relationships with managers and senior stakeholders.
  3. Partner with our specialist teams including Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Reward, and HR Operations to deliver people strategy and support to the business.
  4. Ongoing employee relations management including performance management, employee cases, and policy development.
  5. Talent management including succession planning, internal moves, and global mobility.
  6. Partner with Talent Acquisition in interviewing, onboarding, and assessment.
  7. Support business leaders’ org design for new and existing roles and teams.
  8. Drive data and reporting to support leaders in making informed business decisions.
  9. Lead and support projects including year-end processes, engagement survey, change initiatives, and local business-driven initiatives.

These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview:

  1. In-depth knowledge of the German employee relations and employment legislation.
  2. Experience as the people lead for workers councils, employee committee or union requirements.
  3. Proven HR business partnering experience, with the ability to navigate between the strategic and transactional aspects of the role.
  4. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects.
  5. Experience working in a matrixed environment.
  6. Ability to work as an individual contributor supporting a region and/or business unit, while also collaborating with the HRBP and wider HR team.

It would be great if you had these too, but we’ll support you if you don’t:

  1. Experience of M&A or business transformation/change management.
