HR Admin / Payroll Accounting Manager, Investment Banking

We are looking for a client who is a leading international and independent mid-market investment banking firm with over 850 employees across 21 offices worldwide. They advise public and private corporations, private equity firms, and individual clients on mergers and acquisitions, debt raising, and restructuring. Originating from the United States, our client is now the fastest-growing global mid-market investment bank.

With offices in Frankfurt, Zurich, Vienna, Amsterdam, and Brussels, they employ just under 150 people. Over the last 20 years, they have significantly grown and established themselves as a leading mid-cap advisory firm in the German-speaking region and the Benelux countries, with an eye towards continued success and expansion.

The Role
We are seeking a well-organized HR Admin / Payroll Accounting Clerk who is detail-oriented and comfortable working in a highly professional and fast-paced environment in the heart of Frankfurt. This role covers a wide range of responsibilities in accounting, reporting, payroll, and HR administration.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide expert knowledge on HR payroll execution and administration, including related paperwork for our offices in the DACH region, Benelux, and Spain, such as:
    • Timely preparation and submission of monthly payroll data
    • Acting as the main contact for our outsourced payroll providers, including coordinating specific payroll or tax-related queries
    • Entering and updating key personnel data in our HRIS system, in close collaboration with the HR Business Partner
  • Support other administrative processes related to people management, especially those with a specialist tax angle, such as secondments and reward reviews
  • Serve as the data steward for our HRIS, working with teams across Europe and the US to ensure adherence to processes and proper system integration
  • Conduct analyses, reporting, statistics, and data maintenance
  • Manage payroll accounting follow-up as well as monitor and coordinate payment transactions
  • Administer and serve as the contact person for pension schemes in the Benelux and DACH regions, as well as group accident insurance

Key Candidate Requirements

  • Interest in a hybrid role across HR administration, payroll, taxation, legal, and accounting within a dynamic sector and working environment
  • Vocational qualification in payroll, administration, or accounting
  • Initial experience in accounting and payroll, with knowledge of accounting standards (HGB / US GAAP) and tax regulations
  • Affinity for IT and systems, comfortable working with systems such as NetSuite, Personio, and Datev
  • Fluent in German, with good working knowledge of English
  • Trustworthy, with the ability to handle sensitive data with the utmost confidentiality
  • Collaborative, organized, and dynamic personality, comfortable in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Independent, structured, and result-oriented approach with a strong affinity for numbers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office software products
