HEAD OF PRODUCTION (m / f / d)

As a production team lead, you will manage clients and projects as well as the production team, managing workload and time, aligning with other project departments. The handling of construction and event technology projects in the areas of exhibitions, purchasing, and events are your main tasks as well. In doing so, you ensure the highest quality in the technical implementation of our performances, events, and conferences. You will oversee all areas of the production department in implementing our artistic, commercial, technical, and structural competencies. You will also manage collaboration with E.STYLE's customers and partner suppliers.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Design of structural area setups for events
  • Specification of the requirements for construction areas for the technical handling and production of events
  • Preparation and setup of all drawings and measurements prior to the event in accordance with the technical and construction layout
  • Management of the construction teams and event technicians
  • De-rigging (dismantling) the equipment and restoring it to its original state after the event
  • Collaborate with business customers, companies, suppliers, and artists to identify requirements
  • Ordering, receiving, and inspecting deliveries and collections of construction equipment within the scope of our company policy
  • Primary point of contact for maintenance and troubleshooting of materials and equipment
  • Ensuring the legal conformity of our installations and our technical equipment
  • Manage technical areas (sound, AV, rigging) as required
  • Use in the role of Project Manager in other specialist departments as required
  • Manage the approval and safety assessment processes

STAFFING & TEAM MANAGEMENT

  • Plan onsite staffing according to capacity and needs
  • Establish and publish clear priorities among project activities; delegate tasks accordingly
  • Assure that all team members understand their roles and accept their responsibilities

BUDGETING

  • Create production cost estimation and manage client requests
  • Manage payment flow

RISK MANAGEMENT

  • Arbitrate and resolve conflict and interface problems within the project
  • Establish contingency plans and identify trigger events and responsibility for initiating corrective action
  • Resolve larger conflicts and execute proper solution strategy

INTERNAL MANAGEMENT

  • Involve functional expertise to ensure smooth process flow between Account team, Design team, and Production team throughout the projects
  • Lead and motivate people and encourage teamwork
  • Negotiate the performance of activities with team members (project evaluation)
  • Analyse the actual performance against the annual development plan and report to VP
  • Proactive suggestions for improvement of workflow management and team spirit to management
  • Additional internal assigned tasks (e.g., internal events, office supply order, etc.)
  • Involve in management decisions and long-term strategy

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

  • Technical background or sales background with an AV technical understanding
  • Relevant further education or university qualifications
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience
  • Experience in setting up complex exhibition constructions, event constructions, and/or branding
  • Good understanding of different materials, material properties, and construction methodology
  • Very good knowledge of electricity, electronics, and other event technologies

DOCUMENTATION

  • Demonstrates proficiency with MS Office programs
  • Sufficient skills in arranging content in PPT format and creating proposals and operation manuals

  • Knows when to listen

WRITTEN COMMUNICATION

  • Demonstrates basic ability to create memos, meeting minutes, emails, etc.
  • Writes professional, concise emails with actionable information

  • Exhibits interest in client's business and how tasks relate to the objectives

DECISION MAKING

  • Displays integrity and E.STYLE philosophy when making decisions

EXPERT KNOWLEDGE

  • Technical drawing (preferably Autocad)
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Experience with the setup and use of live sound systems including mixing consoles and PA systems
  • Experience in rigging, working in technical grids, and truss construction
  • International experience working on multiple projects
