Job Objective- Developing and leading the department responsible for the BSM Cruise related hospitality training and development goals and objectives.
- Designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive training and development programs and hospitality specific procedures.
- Identifying and addressing learning needs, creating effective training content, and evaluating program effectiveness.
Key Accountabilities- Support BSM Strategy and Strategic Goals
- Develop, implement and manage the BSM Cruise hospitality training strategy and initiatives.
- Establish partnerships and enhance in-house training to support our clients in key seafarer origin countries.
- Develop and maintain exceptional customer relationships.
- Curriculum and Content Creation
- Collaborate with relevant department heads to identify targeted training needs and seek input from seafarers on training requirements.
- Lead the creation of training content and delivery methods.
- Oversee on-board and shore trainings and training initiatives customized for cruise ship hospitality and catering teams.
- Resource development and Customization
- Recruit, train, and lead the hospitality training team, covering key areas such as front desk, housekeeping, and food and beverage departments.
- Establish collaborative feedback mechanisms to continuously refine and improve training programs.
- Collaborate with external partners on content creation and delivery and leverage synergies with other BSM and Schulte Group units.
- Training and delivery
- Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions both onboard and onshore.
- Assess and monitor the effectiveness of training programs.
RequirementsEducation & Work Experience- Bachelor’s degree in hotel management, culinary arts management or F&B management or related field.
- Certification in training and development or proven experience in curriculum design.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience on cruise ships, with management-level experience in F&B, or Galley.
- Proven experience, minimum 3 years, as a Training and Development Manager or a similar role, preferably in a Cruise line company or a certified trainer within the cruise industry.
- Experience in a leadership role in a hospitality training school preferred.
- Knowledge of current trends and technologies in learning and development.
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
- Proficient in English language (both written and oral) and additional proficiency in languages such as German or French is advantageous.
