The Head of Business Development Valves and components will play a pivotal role in expanding our market presence globally, with a focus on driving growth in the semiconductor industry and its adjustment markets. This role will report directly to the Chief Sales Officer and will work cross-functionally with regional sales teams, product management, engineering departments, and operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic business development plan, managing a global product portfolio, and ensuring alignment between market needs and product offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement global business development strategies that align with corporate goals and drive growth in the semiconductor industry.
    • Lead efforts to identify and capitalize on new market opportunities, with a focus on expanding our customer base in key regions.
  2. Market and Product Management:
    • Oversee the semiconductor valves product portfolio, ensuring it meets the current and future needs of the market.
    • Collaborate with product management and R&D teams to drive the development and launch of innovative products.
    • Monitor market trends, customer requirements, and competitive dynamics to inform product strategy and positioning.
  3. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with regional sales teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies that drive revenue growth.
    • Partner with the engineering and operations teams to ensure product availability and performance meet customer expectations.
    • Engage with marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns and promotional activities that support business development goals.
  4. Customer and Market Intelligence:
    • Gather and analyze market intelligence to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, industry leaders, and other stakeholders to gain insights and drive business initiatives.
  5. Business Profitability Management:
    • Manage the P&L for the semiconductor valves business, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance tracking.
    • Set and achieve sales and profitability targets in alignment with the company’s overall business objectives.
  6. Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
    • Drive innovation in product development by working closely with R&D teams and identifying emerging technologies.
    • Implement continuous improvement initiatives across the business group valves and components to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  7. Global Reach and Influence:
    • Act as a global ambassador for the company’s valves business, representing the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.
    • Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all regions, aligning with corporate standards and values.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is highly preferred.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or product management, with a significant portion of that experience in the semiconductor or vacuum technology industries.

Skills:

  • Strong strategic thinking and leadership abilities.
  • Proven track record of driving business growth in a global setting.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • In-depth knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and the role of vacuum technology within these processes.
  • Financial acumen, with experience managing P&L and driving profitability.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English and German is required; proficiency in additional languages (e.g., French) is a plus.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel globally as needed to support business development efforts.
