About the Role:
The Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) & Health Authorities (HA) role is a vital member of the Strategic Accounts Accelerator (SAA) leadership team. The SAA is a commercial enabler with the mandate to drive durable profitable growth, maximize Medtronic’s presence, and unlock new opportunities in key accounts to position Medtronic as the partner of choice.
This role will focus on elevating transactional relationships to strategic partnerships with GPOs, national and regional/provincial health authorities, and other procurement bodies to position Medtronic as a trusted partner, optimize Medtronic’s access to large healthcare networks, streamline procurement processes, and unlock new opportunities while enhancing our presence across the healthcare landscape.
The person in this role will lead initiatives to align Medtronic’s solutions with the needs and procurement frameworks of GPOs and health authorities. This will involve establishing strong relationships, negotiating and managing contracts, and creating tailored value propositions that address healthcare priorities, improve patient outcomes, and maximize efficiency for our partners. The role can be based anywhere in EurAsia.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Develop and maintain trusted partnerships with decision-makers within GPOs, national and regional health authorities, and other key procurement bodies to uncover and qualify new business and commercial opportunities.
Socialize Medtronic’s integrated capabilities with decision-makers, aligning our offerings with the strategic priorities of hospitals and healthcare groups to strengthen Medtronic’s role as a trusted partner.
Stay informed on trends in healthcare procurement, regulatory changes, and policy developments that impact GPOs, health authorities, and large healthcare networks.
Conduct regular analyses of market dynamics, competitive positioning, and purchasing data to inform strategic decisions and identify emerging opportunities.
Provide regular reporting and insights on GPO and health authority engagement, highlighting key metrics, growth areas, and potential risks.
Partner with regional SAM teams and collaborate with other enablers to align Medtronic’s strategies for GPOs and health authorities with broader business objectives.
Collaborate with the Innovation & Operational Excellence and utilize its capabilities for seamless execution.
Act as the internal subject matter expert on GPO and health authority partnerships, providing insights and guidance that inform product development, marketing campaigns, and sales approaches.
Work with regional and cross-functional teams to create customized, pan-Medtronic value propositions for GPOs and health authorities that emphasize quality, cost-effectiveness, and comprehensive patient care.
Highlight the breadth and depth of Medtronic’s portfolio, aligning solutions with healthcare system goals such as reducing costs, enhancing access to care, and improving patient outcomes.
Partner with regional SAM teams and collaborate with other enabler/functions to develop complex contract negotiations with GPOs and health authorities, managing pricing, terms, and conditions to align with Medtronic’s business objectives.
Oversee the contract lifecycle, ensuring that agreements remain compliant and deliver optimal value for both Medtronic and the purchasing organizations.
Implement efficient processes for managing contract renewals, amendments, and adjustments as market conditions and healthcare needs evolve.
Collaborate with regional SAM teams and collaborate with other enabler/functions to develop pricing strategies that balance competitive positioning with profitability.
Analyze procurement trends and organizational purchasing behaviors to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost efficiencies, and value-added services.
Ensure Medtronic’s offerings are well-positioned within GPO and health authority frameworks, streamlining the procurement process for our products and services.
