Group HR - Head of Department - HR Group Priorities (m/f/d)

Group HR has been recently established as a division within the Munich Re Group responsible for driving the strategic group-wide HR Agenda. Group HR will generate strategic impulses for HR work on Group level as well as for each of our business fields. It facilitates Strategy Committee (StratC) decisions on group-wide HR priorities and orchestrates business fields activities along those priorities. By providing data-based HR intelligence, Group HR will facilitate informed discussions and enable data-driven decision making.

We are looking for a Head of Department to drive the strategic group-wide HR Agenda and orchestrate the HR Group priorities, in close cooperation with the business fields. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a newly established division and build a new team.

YOUR JOB

  • Build, lead and develop a team of experts to orchestrate selected HR group priorities together with the business fields.
  • Drive the strategic group-wide HR Agenda.
  • Provide a framework to structure and steer collaboration and alignment between business fields along shared strategic priorities.
  • Responsible for professional program management for strategic HR Group Priorities; achieve joint commitment towards delivering concrete KPIs.
  • Oversight of the PMO within the department.
  • Coordinate the definition of common standards, policies, principles and governance where relevant.
  • Orchestrate group-wide Top Executive Talent Management processes, including creating increased transparency on executive talent decisions and talent pools and ensuring harmonized methodology.
  • Promote executive talent mobility across business fields.
  • Drive executive development offering (GMP program).
  • Contribute to a success-oriented, accountable and collaborative environment within the group-wide HR community.

YOUR PROFILE

  • University degree, preferably in business or law.
  • Several years of professional experience in the HR environment, preferably in an international consultancy firm or large corporation.
  • Expert knowledge of HR and HR global trends.
  • Experience in program management and HR strategy processes in large and complex organizations.
  • Significant network of external contacts in HR sector relevant for Munich RE.
  • Proven strong leadership skills and experience.
  • Excellent social skills combined with the ability to think and work in a group-wide network.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Very good English skills; German skills are a bonus.
