We’re looking for fintech enthusiasts to join us in creating the financial infrastructure of tomorrow. We’re building the first European Investment API to enable any financial institution offering a wide range of efficient and transparent investment products, such as stocks and ETFs in nominal, portfolio, and fractional form. We’re based in Berlin but are also open to hiring remotely in Germany or Estonia for this role. If you're currently based elsewhere but would like to move to Germany, we’re happy to support your relocation.

At Upvest, you'll become an integral part of our Data Management community where Analysts and Engineers collaborate to learn and grow together. Our integrated organisational structure provides you with the opportunity to work closely across finance, product, engineering, and operations areas.
This role will give you the opportunity to:
- Data Analysis and Insights: Dive into complex datasets to extract valuable insights and trends that drive data-informed decisions, ensuring our B2B offerings are optimised for success.
- Client Data Analysis & Customised Reporting: Conduct in-depth analysis of client data to provide actionable insights and create custom reports and data visualisations tailored to our B2B clients' specific needs.
- Data Architecture and Tools: Collaborate on data architecture projects with a primary focus on achieving 100% data consistency. Utilise advanced tools such as DBT, BigQuery, and Looker.
- Cross-Functional Impact: Collaborate with various teams, including developers and product managers, to seamlessly integrate your data-driven insights into our B2B products and services.
- Data Strategy Implementation and Product Enhancement: Execute our data strategy, ensuring data-driven solutions are integrated into our B2B offerings, and enhance our financial APIs and services.

Job requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in an analyst or data engineering role requiring data interrogation, analysis, and storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in handling complex datasets.
- Conducting analysis to preemptively identify issues and surface actionable insights.
- Expert level in LookML, Looker, or equivalent BI tools.
- Expertise in data visualisation and using data insights to deliver actionable recommendations.
- A builder's mindset with a willingness to question assumptions.
- Ability to communicate results clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage project work.
- Proven experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to connect the big picture to minute details.
Must Have:
- Proficiency in SQL (we use Google BigQuery) and any general purpose programming language such as Python or R.
- At least one year experience working with DBT (Data Build Tool).
- Strong understanding of Git workflows and version control best practices.
- Proficiency with the command line interface (Bash, ZSH, etc.).
