YOUR TASKS
The Flight Operations Control Duty Manager acts as responsible team leader in the EAT Flight Operations Control Department during designated shift and coordinates activities and leverages contribution of specialist teams of Crew Scheduling Department (CSD), Crew Care team and Flight Dispatch to achieve integrity of the Network Schedule while ensuring sound decision making processes are adhered to in terms of best level of service / costs.
In detail this means:
- Monitor and analyses airline operational readiness ahead of operation, take action to resolve potential gaps versus committed plan and implement resolution.
- Continuous operational scanning / awareness of events that could affect execution of plan.
- Take decisive actions and decisions during network disruptions based on collaborative suggestions from Maintenance, CSD, Crew Care team and Dispatch inputs.
- Additional duties and responsibilities of Flight Dispatch and support of CSD are part of the job / or may be assigned by the Senior Manager Flight Operations Control as required.
- Pro-actively keep network and maintenance customers informed about possible service concerns and proposed course of action to mitigate.
- Review of operation as executed, discuss with team, identify areas for improvement, coordinate with stakeholders (Management, Network Management) and implement.
- Willingness to conduct internal workshops and trainings and to participate in appropriate qualifications for this purpose.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Completed degree program and several years of relevant professional work experience or many years of relevant professional work experience in an Airline operational role and/or DHL Express network operations.
- Solid airline / network background, including knowledge of Crew Scheduling, Flight Dispatch & maintenance topics.
- Knowledge of flight operations procedures and organizational requirements for airworthiness and airline operations.
- Knowledge of legislative and regulatory framework and other statutory requirements (EASA).
- Very good knowledge of English, ideally good knowledge of German.
- Willingness of shift work in a 24/7 environment.
- Strong Communication skills, a positive mindset and willingness to engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated analytical, consultative and decision making skills.
- Confident, self-motivated, responsible and able to delegate and work under intensive time pressure.
