THE SEARCH:
Altus Partners have been retained by a market leading Private Equity Backed Retail brand to secure a proven Finance Director due to ongoing expansion plans.
This is a key strategic hire, reporting directly to the CFO offering full ownership and autonomy to lead, develop and enhance the finance function.
You will be part of a global group, where the German business currently sits at revenues of €120m with a very positive EBITDA.
This role will be based at the company's German Head Office near Dusseldorf.
THE ROLE:
This opportunity offers a very broad and interesting remit, including full ownership of Financial Controls, Tax, Treasury, FP&A/Commercial Finance and M&A.
Key responsibilities:
- Reporting directly into the CFO, you will provide key financial reporting and related insights to drive business growth and performance.
- This is a highly strategic position, where the Finance Director will be pivotal to the business executing its value creation plan and working towards an exit within the next 18 months–2 years.
- Lead an overall finance team of 26 with 5 direct reports, delivering ongoing support, mentoring and development to your leadership team, in addition to building a high performing and collaborative culture.
- Monthly reporting and presentation to CFO and other key leaders of the business performance and strategic focus areas.
- Ongoing development of internal KPI reporting and key performance dashboards.
- Attending key strategic meetings, supporting the business with data led commercial decision making.
- Provide regular strategic finance support and insights to the CFO and other Senior Leaders within the business, including Sales, Marketing and Procurement Leaders.
- Support the ongoing M&A activities of the business with essential pre-deal due diligence support and effective integration of acquired businesses into the group.
- Overseeing the Statutory Accounting and Year End process.
THE REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree or equivalent in a Finance related subject.
- Proven Finance Director/CFO level experience, demonstrating strong leadership skills and impacting positive business performance.
- Fluent Business German.
- Private Equity experience would be a nice to have, but it is not a requirement.
- Hybrid/Flexible working is available, with a requirement to be on-site in Dusseldorf around 4 days per week.
