Field Application Engineer - EV Charger Power Electronics (EMEA)

The Opportunity:
microTECH Global is excited to partner with a highly motivated and technical Field Application Engineer (FAE) to join a rapidly growing team within our client company, a prominent leader in EV charging power electronics.
About the Role:
You will play a key role in driving sales and technical support for our client's industry-leading EV fast charger power electronics solutions across the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). You will leverage your technical expertise and customer-centric approach to cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including product management, sales teams, channel partners, distributors, and system integrators.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in solving complex technical challenges, providing exceptional customer support, and leveraging technical expertise to deliver value in the power electronics or related fields (battery charging, system integration, power systems, or control systems).
- Ability to travel extensively (minimum 40% of the time).
- Fluency in English (written and oral communication).
Desired Skills:
- Prior experience collaborating with customers on embedded applications and within the EV charging industry.
- Strong reading comprehension of technical specifications.
- Working knowledge of DC charging system power architecture and competitor landscape.
- Experience in offering system-level solutions (cabinets, shelves, rectifiers, and controllers).
- Fluency in French, Italian, or Spanish (a plus).
- Advanced engineering or technical degree (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, sales enablement tools, and CRM platforms (Salesforce.com experience a plus).
- Understanding of staged-gate engineering development processes.
- Solid foundation in power electronics principles (AC/DC and DC/DC topologies, analog and power supply circuit design approaches, integration of AC/DC and DC/DC products within OEM systems, digital interface protocols like I2C, CANbus, and PMBus).
- Knowledge of agency requirements for power conversion products (safety standards, EMI standards, input surge requirements, and harmonics standards – UL 1012, EN61000 systems).
- Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and spectrum analyzers).
- Ability to grasp and implement customer and industry standards.
