European IT Engineer

Position Summary:

The Regional IT Engineer is responsible for the European overall IT infrastructure systems and network management, IT security compliance and governance, covering 10 Group Members Companies (GMC) as primary role and secondary role to provide local IT support. This role can either be based in the Netherlands or in West Germany.

Role Purpose:

• Ensure adherence and compliance to all corporate governance and standardization, quality management plans and standards.
• Vendor Management - Maintain a Good Relationship with our hardware and software suppliers, communicate with them regularly on updates and security.
• Prepare, manage and track European IT Budget and Actual investment and expenses.
• Strong coordination and collaboration with GBS IT and SH ITM.
• Provide report and progress report on time.

Primary Responsibilities:

SYSTEMS AND NETWORK

• Enforce corporate IT regulations governance for the company infrastructure architecture, security and system administration to ensure internal IT systems and operations compliance with corporate IT regulations governance.
• Control and manage third-party vendors on IT infrastructure projects and related tasks, including outsource managed services.
• Provide guidance to outsourced partners and if required, perform critical network/server/firmware upgrading and security patch management when needed.
• Perform network and system monitoring, health check, security review, system backup and restore.
• Liaise with 3rd party software/hardware vendors for support and escalation.
• Perform network management, monitoring, design and maintenance for Corporate, LAN, WAN, WIFI and equipment.
• Perform system management, patching, monitoring, backup, restore and performance tuning.
• Apply developed subject matter knowledge to solve common operational issues within established guidelines and by recommending appropriate alternatives.
• Create and maintain IT documentation for consistent system administration and processes.
• Standby and respond to emergency call or IT services outages around the clock.
• Administration and maintaining network and systems ID.
• Coordinate and manage planned/unplanned outages.

END USER COMPUTING

• Provide support for issues and requests related to Microsoft 365 (M365) applications from users.
• Provide end user and office automation support.
• Conduct subject matter knowledge and/or other IT related and IT security awareness training to users.
• Remotely troubleshoot and support users on any IT related issues that are not supported by SUPPORT PARTNER, escalated by GMC IT contact to SEG IT.
• Mobile Device Management for Europe.

IT PROJECTS & INFRASTRUCTURE OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

• Prepare annual IT budget plan (Costing, Project plans, etc.) and review with GBS IT for confirmation.
• Recommend and suggest improvement to allow more effective usage of IT Services and support.
• Project Management for infrastructure projects, both internal and outsourced IT projects.
• Manage effective service delivery from our Support Partner, make sure deliverables are delivered as agreed.
• Collaborate closely with GMC (Group Member Companies) IT contact and ensure accurate IT asset (hardware, software) management for Europe to achieve the following:
• Maintain and ensure software licensing compliance for Europe region.
• Manage IT equipment and software lifecycle.
• Manage IT procurement: Determine the IT solution and obtain quotes received from suppliers for comparison. Discuss and review with GBS IT before executing IT procurement.
• Evaluate, discuss and review infrastructure change requests with GBS IT for confirmation before a change request can be implemented to the environment. Discuss and review with GBS IT before executing IT procurement.
• Procure hardware & Software within our budget.
• Monitor Backups & Restores for all GMC’s and troubleshoot or inform SUPPORT PARTNER to address the error, making sure they complete the troubleshooting on time.
• Incident Management – Initial check on the cause of the problem, inform SUPPORT PARTNER and find the RCA of the incident.
• Proactively monitor Support Partner’s performances and address it regularly.
• Ensure all Infrastructure related change requests documentation is updated promptly.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties that may be assigned by superior from time to time.
• Manage and maintain the Telephone and Internet Lines, Carry out a good relationship with our suppliers and providers.
• Manage in-house/internal application systems.

Basic Requirements:

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent, with minimum 5 years’ experience working in similar IT operations.
• Must have good Project Management and Leadership skills, possess good planning and organization skills, strong ability to prioritize and work effectively to deliver commitment.
• Experienced in vendor and outsourcing management in order to manage the external partner.
• Proactive and flexible.
