Job Overview

The client is seeking an experienced candidate to join our IT Enterprise Architecture team in the position of Business Systems Analyst for the implementation of an Enterprise Asset Management.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for supporting the project through the full-life cycle, providing recommendations on process improvement, identifying new opportunities, and preparing for each phase of the project.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Participating in all phases of the project life-cycle including: Initiation, Planning, Definition, Execution, and Closeout.
2. Contributing to the implementation of a large, complex system with extensive integrations requiring comprehensive organizational change management.
3. Ability to work with stakeholders to document system architecture and details in LeanIX.
4. Supporting all stages of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), including requirements definition, solution architecture & design, software development, system integration, testing, and quality assurance.
5. Supporting projects through rapid development methodologies such as Agile, Iterative, etc.
6. Fostering relationships between business units (Operations, Maintenance, Engineering) and IT (Information Technology) group through interaction with line of business leaders and power users.
7. Participating in technology and business risk analysis to identify implications, root-cause, and creative solutions.
8. Supporting and facilitating the development of business cases that will provide funding release through various project gates.
9. Applying industry best practices to help the project team maintain a focus on continuous improvement.
10. Developing project schedules for project deliverables.

Qualifications

Education:

• 4-year University Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other relevant program
• Business Analysis certification an asset
• Lean Six Sigma Certification an asset

Experience:

• 5 to 10+ years of IT experience
• Experience contributing on projects through rapid development methodologies such as Agile, Iterative, etc.
• Experience working with a matrixed delivery model
• Thorough understanding of the entire SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
• Proven track record of creating and maintaining solution documentation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working experience with Microsoft DevOps for requirements and work management
• Excellent familiarity with Microsoft suite of products, such as Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio
• Technical savvy with using and implementing technological solutions
• Prior experience in managing conflicting priorities of scope, schedule, cost, and quality
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to provide guidance to the project team and line of business
• Proven ability as a team player to understand and manage interrelationships of various internal and external groups
• Possess strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational and planning skills
