English Camp Counselors (m/f/d) Bremen

We are expanding our dynamic, international team and need Camp Counselors (m/f/d) to work at our English language camps across Germany (North- and Baltic Sea coasts, Berlin, North Rhine-Westphalia, Hessen, Bavaria, etc).

Oskar lernt Englisch has been offering English language camps in Germany since 2004 for children between the ages of 6 and 15 looking to gain confidence in their English. We fuse structured English lessons with active and informal settings. We know that learning isn’t just something you do in a classroom!

We hope to inspire and create an accessible environment to learn English in, combining the expert knowledge of English speakers who are energetic, empathetic, and culturally diverse with an adventure-packed environment.

We offer:

Camp life can be pretty demanding, which is why we try to accommodate and provide for your needs while you’re out there swinging in the tree-tops or learning to shoot arrows like Robin Hood. In addition to connecting with other incredible counselors from all walks of life, we’ll also throw in a few perks:

• Travel, room, and board are paid for on all overnight camps.
• We’ll pay for your first aid certification.
• Access to both our digital and physical library of teaching resources.

• You’ll also get regular pay increases the more camps you do!

Your tasks:

• Seasonal freelance work (during school holidays)
• Teaching English in the mornings
• Supervision of children during mealtimes
• Running workshops/sports/activities during the afternoons and evenings
• Bringing your electric energy and enthusiasm to camp!

These are our requirements:

• Fluent in English (C1/C2)
• Teaching experience, and/or experience working with children
• A high level of responsibility and empathy towards others, including children
• Availability to work a minimum of 4 weeks per year, during the Easter, Summer or Autumn school holidays.
• Availability to complete online and in-person training
• Availability to attend a first aid course
• Police check for working with children
• A valid work permit for freelance work in Germany (if applicable)
• 18 years of age or older

We know interviews can be nerve-wracking experiences. Our goal is to find individuals who are just as excited as we are to get out on camp and have an enriching, adventure-filled, (English) learning experience with our campers. However, in our search for the perfect counselor, we do understand that the interview isn’t just about us getting to know you, but as much a chance for you to make sure we’re the right fit for you too!

• Once the hard part is over, we will let you know the outcome of the interview.
• Once the formalities are out of the way, we’ll help you with the paperwork (onboarding), and get you out on camp ASAP!
