Your new role

As 3D CAD & Layout engineer you will be part of our team of experts within a number of different technical areas and project managers, working worldwide on the establishment of new Waste to Energy projects, new district heating systems as well as supporting existing plants within asset management.

Competence wise you will also be part of Ramboll Energy’s 3D/layout competence team with a group of 3D/layout experts located mainly in Copenhagen, Zürich and Hamburg. You will work closely together with 3D/layout colleagues on our largest projects. On our minor projects we foresee you conduct all 3D/layout work yourself, however, always with the possibility to draw upon the 3D/layout competence team for sparring, best practices and quality assurance. Within this competence team you will also share lessons learnt from projects and develop best practices, tools etc. within this competence area.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

• Modelling layout(s) for process equipment and simple building structures for typical district heating production units, heat exchanger stations and entire waste-to-energy facilities. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the project manager and various technical discipline leads.
• In the early project phases, your work includes the preparation of conceptual layouts in 2D and/or 3D and site plans with infrastructure, Revit and other visualizations.
• In the following phase you will prepare a more detailed layout for coordination with other project stakeholders like architects, civil engineers, client and planning authorities. This layout is typically also a part of tender documents.
• When contractors are found, your work would be to review and assess their detailed layout and if more than one contractor, it will also be to collect and merge all CAD models into an aggregate model to be used for design coordination between the parties.
• On asset management projects, where existing facilities are to be changed, your work includes preparation of more detailed layouts of separate systems e.g. piping systems and minor client deliveries.
• You will participate in design coordination meetings, daily coordination and follow-up during design and might also be involved in follow-up on site during construction.

• You have gathered first (2-5 yrs) working experience with 3D modelling of various type of layout projects within the energy sector and/or industrial sector (process plants).
• You have comprehensive experience with layout modelling work in 3D. Experience in 2D in Bentley MicroStation and AutoCAD is seen as a plus.
• You are familiar with AutoDesk Navisworks and Revit.
• You are systematic and structured in your way of working, and creative-minded.
• You are keen on working in a team and collaborating with colleagues across borders.
• You are open-minded, positive and proactive.
• You have good communication skills in German and English, both verbally and in writing.
