Job Description
Wolt is looking for a Senior Event Manager to join our Product+ organization as part of the Engineering Operations team. In this role, you will be focused on ideating and executing internal events and some community-building activities for our Product+ people; this means engineers, product managers, designers, analysts, and other product development professionals based in Helsinki, Berlin, and Stockholm. You’ll be the heart and soul of our internal events, where we come together to learn, teach, network, and be merry!
The role requires a good understanding of what people want and need to feel connected; the ability to invent as well as exquisite organizational skills. We already run a series of exciting events for our tech folks, such as:
- Wolt Hackathons
- Monthly Product Hour internal learning sessions
- An annual Product Week event that gathers all our global tech folks in one place to get to know each other and learn about key topics in our product development space.
In this role, you'll get to own these and ideate more events, enabling our teams to connect with and learn from one another. If you’re curious, you can get to know some of our event formats through our blog; for example, what happens at a Wolt hackathon.
Your duties will include among others:
- Take ownership of the annual event calendar, orchestrating monthly internal tech events (such as Product Hour and All Hands) and larger-scale productions (like hackathons and Product Week), ensuring that each event serves a strategic purpose and seamlessly integrates into the year-round event strategy.
- Building and leading cross-functional project teams and identifying content opportunities for events.
- Prepare speakers and contributors, deal with event logistics.
- Involve the right teams and stakeholders as needed, making sure our people are engaged and involved in the events.
- Be solely responsible for managing the action plan, time, staffing, third-party management, and budget of the event preparations and events.
- Measure and report on the success of events.
- Work cross-team with various Product+ teams and members, as well as stakeholders like Communications, Brand, Office Management, Event Agencies, and other teams.
Qualifications
This role might be perfect for you if you have:
- Been responsible for large-scale event organizing.
- Dealt with event budgets and measured ROI on events.
- The desire to work with end-to-end event execution with a project management approach.
- Hands-on experience in dealing with budgets, logistics, vendors, collaborating with branding/marketing, concept events, speaker prep, etc., relating to event organization.
- A willingness to travel on average twice a month to tech hubs such as Helsinki, Berlin, or Stockholm for event-related activities.
- Great communication skills - both in written and spoken English.
- No issue juggling overlapping tasks, while paying attention to detail and quality.
- A liking for a creative challenge; we need someone who can innovate how we can build engaging event and employee engagement opportunities.
- Some exposure or experience in the tech industry would be a plus.
