Purpose of the role:

Monitor adherence and set-up required processes to ensure full compliance in the area of Export Control and Sanction regulation.

Job responsibilities:

1. Provide input to and lead implementation of DHL Group’s Trade Law program and export control strategy that comply with all applicable laws and regulations in line with business needs.
2. Develop and implement programs, processes, controls (ICS) and tools to enhance compliance with DHL protocols and standards and with all applicable laws and regulations.
3. Define appropriate performance indicators to evaluate efficiency and oversee running of control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies.
4. Align with all stakeholders (e.g. Finance, Sales & Marketing, HR, Procurement, Legal, Compliance team) to define processes and procedures to ensure full compliance with Export Control and Sanctions Regulations, handling requirements of goods and internal Export Control policies and guidelines.
5. Manage, guide, coordinate/align Export Control Representatives globally.
6. Serves as key contact / escalation point for global colleagues as well as internal audit, corporate & divisional export control teams.

Job requirement:

1. 8–10 years in internal and external compliance standards, regulatory framework and current legislation.
2. Knowledge of Export Control regulations, including Denied Party regulations and embargo /sanction rules.
3. Experience in regulations concerning handling of controlled items such military and dual-use goods will be an added advantage.
4. In-depth know-how of denied party screening solutions, IT set-up and implementation of verification & escalation processes.
5. Knowledge of due diligence processes for embargo / sanction countries / military and dual-use items.
6. Considerable knowledge of contractual terms and conditions with regard to export control and handling of controlled items.
7. Proficiency in German as a language.
