We are seeking experienced Offshore Inspection Engineers with an electrical background to carry out inspection activities on two renewable energy platforms located off the German coast in the North Sea. These roles are critical to ensuring the safety, quality, and operational readiness of offshore substations and associated systems. The positions are scheduled to commence in June/July 2025 and will involve helicopter transfers from Emden, Lower Saxony.
Candidates can be based in the UK (expats) or mainland Europe and must possess the required offshore certifications and medical suitability at the time of deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection Activities: Perform detailed inspections of electrical systems, including substations, HVAC/HVDC cables, and related infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
Quality Assurance: Verify the integrity and quality of installed systems, identifying non-conformances and recommending corrective actions.
Testing Oversight: Observe and verify functional testing procedures, ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to safety protocols.
Documentation: Prepare detailed inspection reports, including photographic evidence, defect lists, and recommendations for resolution.
Safety Compliance: Rigorously adhere to offshore safety standards and procedures, including the use of required PPE and certifications.
Collaboration: Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and site management to facilitate smooth inspection processes.
Daily Reporting: Provide clear and concise daily updates on inspection progress and identified issues.
Requirements Qualifications & Certifications (valid at the time of deployment):
BOSIET: Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training
HUET: Helicopter Underwater Escape Training
CA-EBS: Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System Training
Offshore Medical: Suitability examination and valid medical certification
First Aid: Completion of a base course and refresher within two years
Annual Safety Training: Evidence of offshore safety and activity-specific training
Personal Information for Offshore Access: Must provide date of birth, nationality, ID (passport or personal ID), and document expiry
Technical Expertise:
Extensive experience in electrical inspection, specifically in substations and HVAC/HVDC systems.
Familiarity with offshore renewable energy platforms and power transmission infrastructure.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, inspection checklists, and compliance documentation.
Strong understanding of quality control processes and industry regulations for offshore installations.
Skills:

Strong communication skills for effective reporting and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency in preparing and delivering comprehensive inspection documentation.
Previous experience working on renewable platforms.
Contract Details
Daily Rates: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications.
Duration: Estimated 6-8 months with 168 contracted offshore days.
