Our System Engineering team is looking for a new colleague taking over the responsibility for database management.

• Meaningful and challenging tasks every day: together with your colleagues you are responsible for operating, maintaining and extending our highly available, heterogeneous platform.
• Ownership of the conception, technical design, installation, configuration and clustering of our PostgreSQL database systems.
• Challenging tasks in keeping our databases performance on a very high level through monitoring, profiling, database analyses and optimization of database queries and schemes.
• A role of consultant for your colleagues in software development and a partner for our database architect.
• Automation of various tasks using Ansible and Puppet, ownership of the whole stack from software up to server hardware.
• Encouragement to curate knowledge about our systems, enabling the support team to assist while you tackle your next challenge.

What you should bring to the table ...

• Readiness to become part of our team securing the stable environment for our running digital platforms with a special focus on databases.
• At least 2 years of experience in database administration, ideally PostgreSQL, but also RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL, ...).
• Knowledge of Ansible and Puppet and experience in operating heterogeneous server farms.
• Familiarity with containers, cloud, and tests for your own code.
• Enjoyment of challenging tasks, seeing opportunities for improvement rather than unsolvable problems.
• Linux proficiency, with the ability to fundamentally administrate a Windows system if necessary.
• Self-driven, well organized, and internally motivated to fulfill tasks and connect with your team in a hybrid or fully remote setting.
