At Amazon Community Feedback, we're committed to building customer trust through our social and community features. Our Annotation team plays a crucial role in developing and refining AI-powered solutions that enhance these features.

As a Program Manager on our Annotation team, you'll lead our human-in-the-loop program, which is essential for developing and improving our AI models. This program directly supports our mission by ensuring that our AI-driven community features are accurate, reliable, and trustworthy for our customers.

This role requires a customer-focused approach, data-driven decision-making, and experience with performance optimization at scale. You'll work in a fast-paced environment where your ability to analyze deeply, communicate effectively, and drive change will be key to developing robust, scalable AI solutions that shape the future of Amazon's community features.

Key job responsibilities

  1. AI Model Development and Improvement:
    - Manage projects with Annotators and Auditors to deliver quality input data for AI model fine-tuning and evaluation.
    - Work with stakeholders to forecast project pipelines and align headcount needs.
    - Collaborate with stakeholders (product and science teams) to translate business needs into annotation guidelines.
  2. Process Improvement and Data Analysis:
    - Improve the efficiency and quality of our annotation processes.
    - Analyze data to identify trends and insights, helping pinpoint areas for quality improvement.
    - Work with the Community Annotation Team to prioritize business cases for process improvement.
  3. Cross-functional Collaboration and Project Management:
    - Serve as the primary point of contact between Annotators, Science, and Business teams.
    - Manage medium to large-scale projects bridging Operations, Engineering, Science, and Business teams.

Technical Requirements:
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) and SQL.
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and AI/ML platforms.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Quicksights).
- Understanding of natural language processing (NLP) techniques.

A day in the life
As a Program Manager for the Annotation team, you'll orchestrate high-quality training data provision and AI model performance evaluation. You'll collaborate with annotators, scientists, product managers, and engineers to manage workflows and drive improvements. Your role involves prioritizing projects, optimizing processes, and maintaining alignment. Key responsibilities include overseeing data quality, resource allocation, and project management to enhance annotation efficiency and facilitate communication between technical and non-technical teams. Your work will contribute to developing reliable AI-powered community features, ultimately improving end-user experiences with products like Customer Reviews on Amazon's platform.

About the team
This role and business teams are based in our Berlin, Germany office. We currently require 5 days per week in-office presence to facilitate close collaboration and rapid iteration in our AI development processes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience in program or project management
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Experience in defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience leading process improvements
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
