Senior IT Risk Officer (m/f/d)*

Within the central division Information Technology (IT)/ Department ITRS - IT Risk Management and IT Security.

The Senior IT Risk Officer is responsible for coverage across Munich Re Global IT functional organization and reports directly into the global IT Risk and Security division (ITRS).

The Officer aligns closely with IT Executive, IT Risk & Security, IT Compliance officers and other IT stakeholders to deliver IT Risk Management services. The officer also manages key relationships including but not limited to Munich Re’s Integrated Risk Management (IRM), Group Legal and Compliance (GCL), Central Procurement (CP), and Group Audit (GA).

This senior position has the primary responsibility to provide centralized IT Risk Governance Expertise and Support. This includes implementation and monitoring of IT Risk requirements that are aligned with regulations, global strategies and processes, while also ensuring local and regional requirements are addressed. The role is based in Munich.

YOUR JOB

• Provides IT risk assessment support and solutions to business and IT teams regarding identified issues and concerns, and support for representation of risks with Company IT and Risk governance bodies for formal decisions.
• Leads coordination and assessments for Global IT in support of Company OpRisk Management requirements. This includes annual assessment of Global IT material risk via Risk and Control Assessments.
• Supports transparent reporting of IT Risks to IT Executive and Integrated Risk Management. This focuses on risks owned and treated by ITRS and includes cooperation with other IT Towers and IRM in support of holistic and accurate IT risk reporting.
• Provides lead consulting support on company external certification strategy, and leads the planning and coordination within Global IT in support of attaining and maintaining external certification.
• Continuous analysis of new laws/regulations and associated policies, guidelines and work instructions pertinent to IT Risk Management team scope with relevant partners (e.g. IT Compliance, IRM, CP, GCL, GA). Leads in support of implementation of the required changes within IT Risk Management to provide ongoing compliance assurance.
• Supports Regulator inspections and audits requiring ITRS support both as a Subject Matter Expert and coordination support within ITRS.
• Contributes within the Global IT Risk Management team towards continuous improvement of Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) Information Security Assessments, Client Requested Assessments, and provides cover for IT risk officers in other areas.
• Foster and contribute to global collaboration within IT Risk Management and more broadly in Global IT.

YOUR PROFILE

• University degree in IT or relevant qualification.
• Several years of relevant professional experience in IT Risk and Information System Control with a focus on IT Risk Governance.
• Expert knowledge in IT Risk and Information Systems Control, IT Security and Compliance programs, Data Protection principles and practices.
• Expertise in relevant laws and regulations, applicable to financial service organizations/reinsurers.
• Certified in one or more relevant industry recognized certifications such as CTPRA/CTPRP, CISM, CRISC, CISSP, CGEIT, ITCM.
• Proven experience in successfully managing business and partner relationships and to lead and motivate others.
• Calmness and clarity of thought under pressure with ability to maintain confidentiality and oversee and handle multiple requests at the same time.
• A highly motivated person focusing on personal development, enablement with cultural awareness.
• Excellent command of business English and German.
• Willingness to travel.
