In order to accelerate the migration to the Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) and enable early engagement with the automotive OEMs, our strategic objective is to develop system expertise on Electrification.

Role and Responsibilities

The Automotive System Architect & Technical Marketing Manager plays a leading role in the Automotive System Engineering and Marketing (ASEM) team, working closely with engineering leads, product managers and global sales teams to create successful system architecture & marketing strategies to win at Automotive customers (OEM and Tier1) on targeted Electrification Systems (BMS, OBC, DC/DC, Traction Inverter, X-in-1, Thermal management).

This role has a primary objective to define and execute a winning strategy in Automotive Electrification and successfully engage with the OEMs, Tier-1s and other customers to grow NXP's leadership positions with the System Marketing Electrification Team.

The System Architect & Technical Marketing Manager is interfacing directly with the OEM and the global ecosystem to position NXP portfolio in a system context. Based on a system electrification architecture technical background (BMS, OBC, Inverter), the objective is to build expertise at system level within NXP by defining system solutions according to market trends and customer needs. The second objective is to engage with the customer advanced engineering teams to promote and offer support on these systems, leveraging NXP expertise and portfolio in electrification.

Job Summary

Lead Market & Technical System requirements:

  • Develop a system market understanding, ecosystem dynamics, competition benchmarking and propose unique system value proposition for electrification systems (BMS, OBC, DC/DC, Traction Inverter, X-in-1, Thermal management).
  • Identify system reference platforms and proof of concepts including business cases required to address customer opportunities. Translate market requirements into specifications for the next NXP electrification systems such as device requirements, HW/SW requirements, Functional Safety, etc.

System & Device roadmaps:

  • Influence product roadmaps and propose new products derived from system requirements.
  • Define and position the future, differentiated system roadmap with system-level value proposition at the different regional customers.

Lead Go-To-Market activities:

  • Create collateral to communicate and train global Regional Marketing teams on our Electrification strategy and Go-To-Market plans.
  • Support Marcom activities to propagate Electrification messages via our NXP marcom teams.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Automotive Product Lines, CTO and technical experts to define and implement an overall solution positioning.
  • Nurture dedicated customer relations at system level. Position NXP as the trusted partner for automotive HW and SW solutions for Electrification.

Collaborate & Develop:

  • Drive cross-organizational collaboration and coordinate with different stakeholders for successful go-to-market.
  • Develop and propose ecosystem partners to enhance and support our automotive strategy including strategic partners.
  • Generate incremental revenue and drive Design-Wins with a system approach. Quantify and keep track of System business KPIs.

Core Competencies

Technical:

  • Technical experience (definition, execution, validation) with engineering vehicle electrification systems such as Battery Management System, Traction Inverter and On Board Charger.
  • Hardware & Software experience.
  • System requirement experience.

Marketing:

  • Understanding market needs and translating them into solutions.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Go-To-Market experience.

Soft Skills:

  • Customer-focused mindset. Understanding market needs and translating them into solutions.
  • Experience interfacing with system engineering teams, field sales and global organizations.
  • Ability to think and plan globally, and execute locally within key regions, understanding critical marketing, product, and segment details.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills - internally and with external parties (customers, partners, etc.).
  • Strong desire to keep learning, natural curiosity with broad interest and knowledge in the business.
  • Creative, outside-the-box thinker/visionary willing to develop new paths and improve established ways of working.
  • Organized – Able to prioritize and focus. Capable of managing multiple tasks, and anticipating and planning around obstacles.
