The 3,800 members of our academic, technical and administrative staff – including more than 400 international scientific staff – work together to ensure that our university successfully fulfills its mission of providing excellent teaching for our approximately 16,000 students and 100 trainees.

We focus our research on mobility, metrology, engineering for health, and the future city. Our core disciplines include a comprehensive engineering division and a strong natural sciences division, closely linked with business sciences, social sciences, educational sciences, and the humanities.

The Faculty of Humanities and Education is offering a W2 Professorship for Educational Measurement. The appointment is planned for 1st of October 2025.

Your responsibilities

The University of Hildesheim, the Technische Universität Braunschweig and Leibniz University Hannover have jointly acquired start-up funding for new professorships as part of the call Strengthening Empirical Educational Research in Lower Saxony (Stärkung der empirischen Bildungsforschung in Niedersachsen), and will establish a Research Alliance for Intervention, Implementation and Transfer Research (Forschungsallianz zur Interventions-, Implementations- und Transferforschung, FI2T). Complementary to the new professorships Research on Professional Development in Education and Transformative School Development / Educational Innovation and Change at the Hildesheim and Hanover locations, which are also involved in the research alliance, the focus of the professorship advertised here is on the (further) development of empirical research methods in the context of educational intervention, implementation and transfer research. The candidate (f/m/d) should have methodological expertise in the field of mixed methods, with a focus on quantitative methods.

The successful candidate (f/m/d) is expected to be committed to the university’s strategic goals and to actively shape its holistic development. This applies in particular to digitalisation, internationalisation, equality and diversity, as well as knowledge exchange.

  • Willingness to further develop the profile of the Institute of Educational Science
  • Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary cooperation within the institute, the faculty, TU Braunschweig and with non-university research institutions
  • Willingness to contribute to the internationalization of the university
