Description of position:
The Business Controlling (Finance Partner) team is, on an international level, responsible for a wide range of tasks such as budgeting & reforecasting, responsible for business case on products and clients, business monitoring, as well as profitability and cost analysis. In addition, the team acts as a Finance Partner to our Business Unit Management, Sales and Product Function. We support our business with deep financial knowledge, ensuring long term profitable growth. Your area of expertise will be the Finance and Analysis Function.
This commercial and highly influential career opportunity is at the heart of the business and a central function in the Finance organization. The Business Controller (Finance Partner) (m/f/d) will also play a vital role in the overall Riverty organization by liaising with the Senior Management as a trusted advisor and Business Partner. You are expected to contribute ideas, opinions, new information and together with experienced colleagues develop models and perform complex analyses in order to meet overall corporate strategy targets. The products in scope cover a wide range of Buy Now Pay Later credit products that are rapidly advancing with the fin-tech industry. The business controller is in continuous engagement with Credit Risk teams, account management, product leads, and upper management.
What you are expected to do:
- You conduct financial variance analysis, understand results, identify profitability drivers, communicate and advise management on corrective action.
- You lead budgeting, forecasting, and follow-up processes in your area of responsibility.
- You are the responsible Business Partner for the CCO and Sales Lead with overarching responsibility across all products and countries.
- You provide transparency and guidance to Management, enabling fact-based decisions and steering of our products and markets.
- Proactively and effectively communicate with various stakeholders, discussing the root cause of trends, assessing their impact, and proposing solutions or optimizations.
- You use analytical tools to analyze data and solve problems with the end goal of detecting trends and making proactive decisions.
- You interact and ensure cross-functional teamwork with all relevant departments and stakeholders.
- Liaise with the Sales team to assist with analysis and advice regarding pricing and evaluation of business opportunities.
- Ad hoc reporting and analysis.
- Be open to travel on a regular basis.
What you should bring:
- You bring a Master/MBA degree in Business or Finance (e.g. Economics, Science, Engineering or Business).
- You have a minimum of three years of experience as a Business Controller, Consultant or Financial Analyst in a banking or BNPL environment.
- Excellent analytical skills, logical and structured thinking, creative in problem-solving.
- You are able to identify issues, structure and conduct necessary analysis and draw conclusions.
- Ambition to develop as a professional in an entrepreneurial organization that provides opportunity to work with your areas of interest.
- You bring exceptional inter- and intrapersonal skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities, be detail-oriented, work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent skills with the MS Office package in general and with Excel in particular.
- You have excellent communication skills in verbal and written English.
Nice if you have:
- Experience with SAP FI/CO and BI tools, preferably Power BI.
- Financial modelling experience.
- Experience within the fintech/BNPL/credit industry and knowledge of its financial setup is a plus.
