Responsibilities:

As Mechanical Engineer at BCC, you will work with design solutions for Husqvarna Group Battery & Chargers. You will be responsible for ensuring that the mechanical requirements put on the products and its parts are fulfilled.

You will be responsible for the technical documentation regarding the product, initiating mechanical simulation of parts and assemblies as well as contributing to the project planning and delivering according to agreed timelines.

The BCC Mechanical design engineer is responsible for:

  • Ownership of design activities for battery packs and project deliveries
  • Participation in technical discussions
  • Writing technical specifications
  • Documentation of design-related activities
  • Concretizing work goals
  • Contribution to work planning
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on requirements to ensure they can be verified
  • Developing strategies to solve problems and plan for achieving goals
  • Helping, coaching, and guiding the project team
  • Creating and sharing knowledge within the team

Requirements:

  • A diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Several years of relevant experience in all aspects of the role, specifically working with:
    • Catia v5
    • Lithium-ion batteries
    • Mechatronic solutions
    • Wire harness and connectors
    • Mechanical and thermal simulation
    • Selection of material type based on requirements
    • Defining test cases for verifying the design
    • Designing with thermal plastics
    • Sheet metal design
  • Solid experience in capturing and structuring requirements.
  • A proven track record in describing, communicating, and applying/reusing design patterns.
  • A highly experienced and driven problem solver with a positive approach to finding solutions.
  • A strong drive to achieve clarity and communication on complex solutions towards stakeholders.
  • Experience in coordinating and carrying out experiments to design innovative assemblies and concepts.
  • Knowledge of mechanical construction, assembly, and system integration.
  • Proven collaboration with sourcing and experience in leading work with suppliers, including PPAP work.
  • Well organized, thorough, and reliable with the ability to shift focus from detailed to high-level perspectives.
  • Excellent communication skills, stakeholder management, and leadership through technical authority.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is a must; speaking/reading Swedish or German is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel to other Husqvarna and BCC sites and suppliers.
