Our company is looking to hire a Director of Engineering, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer.
This is a key role with responsibility for the oversight, development and performance of multiple teams building and managing SaaS solutions. Success in this role will come from your experience as a leader, a strong delivery focus, and an ability to lead through adopting the strategy and vision of the organization. You will drive new development, as well as optimizing existing team structures and processes. A solid understanding of adapting agile structures and processes in a multicultural, distributed environment will help you optimize, and make intelligent tradeoffs as we deliver amazing customer value while fighting climate change through software.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the people, process, technology and structure of multiple teams.
- Monitor reliability and performance of all internal systems to suggest improvements.
- Ensure compliance with security regulations.
- Manage software development initiatives.
- Design strategies for future development projects based on the company’s overall objectives and resources.
- Hire engineers and coordinate their training.
- Implement innovative technologies.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders for new integrations and tools.
- Review and update policies relevant to internal systems and equipment.
- Coordinate with teams in the US as we build a unique platform solution for our customers.
Qualifications
- Work experience as a director of engineering or in a similar senior-level position at an engineering department.
- Extensive experience with cloud technologies and modern human-computer interfaces.
- Hands-on experience in back-end and front-end development.
- Deep understanding of agile methodologies.
- Deep understanding of team structures and topologies and how to build them to optimize business outcomes.
- Experience leading change in an organization.
- Ability to mentor and develop people, especially less senior managers.
- Leadership abilities with a strategic mind.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Formal background in Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
- Ability to efficiently work with remote and distributed teams.
- Familiarized with asynchronous work good practices.
- Solid product management knowledge and understanding of practices and techniques.
- Capable of articulating the business value of major technical decisions and solutions.

Salary Ranges:
- Lithuania (Kaunas, Vilnius): 84300 - 104200 Eur gross/yearly.
- Germany (Berlin): 119000 - 147000 Eur gross/yearly.
The final offer will depend on experience, competencies, and expectations.
