E2E Global Process Owner Record to Report (R2R)

Role

  • E2E Global Process Owner (GPO) owns the end-to-end process Record to Report across functional silos, geographic and business unit boundaries; provides global end-to-end governance, a strategic long-term vision for how the pieces of the process come together, where the integration points are and how performance can be improved over time in line with strategic objectives and ensures an overall E2E integration.
  • The role drives the key design E2E approach to deliver the strategic vision and transformation objectives, makes recommendations, and steers, drives and leads relevant process improvements and standardization to improve the E2E process quality, efficiency and effectiveness with reference to the industry best practice and benchmarking aligned with Business Process Owners (BPO), executives and other parties. Functional BPOs will be owning the detailed process design and relevant tools and application aligning with the cross functional teams such as IT, Data and other relevant parties.

Area of Responsibility

  • R2R process scope including general accounting, closing, and external financial reporting as well as relevant tax, data, IT, business processes. Approval and Maintenance of the E2E processes in the one Business Process Management (BPM) tool by working closely with relevant functional BPOs and BPM team.
  • Definition of the E2E process KPIs in alignment with relevant stakeholders.
  • Accountability for driving and coordinating the standardization, improvement, and simplification of processes by collaborating with various stakeholders including tax, operations, finance leadership, community, and IT to create a unified global process design blueprint. Additionally, alignment with key stakeholders, such as Finance leadership, E2E & Functional BPOs, operations units, and business unit leaders, as applicable, to establish the direction of the global process.
  • He/she oversees and approves creation and modification of global process documentation approach and compliance for their relevant processes including internal controls and reviews/approves/rejects process deviations from global guidelines raised by the BPOs.
  • Mentoring and enhancing team's skills, ensuring cooperation within the GPO/BPO teams to achieve cohesive end-to-end process design. Acting as a change agent to steer and drive a different behavior to accept new process or Way of Working across finance community or beyond if required.
  • Ensuring design of ERP and other relevant IT applications includes the E2E view for testing and the impact analysis are in place working closely with business, functions and respective BPOs organization.
  • Acting as a member of the Control Board (CCB) to manage process/tools changes on E2E to evaluate the impact and risk on E2E, also communicated to relevant stakeholders. Through Change Control Board to “receive” the new process and tools and is responsible to support impact analysis.

Organizational Context

  • Reporting line to Head of Group Consolidation and Reporting Governance, sponsored by the Group CFO.
  • A small organization as GPO support, R2R BPE to report to this role to support E2E process work.
  • Relevant Functional BPO will have a dotted reporting line to this role.

Required knowledge, skills and experience

  • Bachelor or Master Degree and 10 yrs+ experience in relevant function/process domains.
  • Proven record in process transformation is preferred with strong network in the industry.
  • Proven experience in set up E2E process and SAP S4 implementation is preferred.
  • Agile to work with global and virtual team setup and indirect network.
  • Strong leadership and influential skills, able to operate in an international environment.
  • Analytical, structured, hands-on mentality, stress resistant, motivating.
  • Adaptability to talk to/manage different levels of stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, business fluent in English, German or other languages speaking is a plus.
  • Lean advanced preferred with strong value stream mapping experience.
  • Experience in Business Process Management Tool will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of R2R-relevant IT system landscape including consolidation and reporting.
  • Deep understanding of R2R end product (ext. financial reporting) and closing requirements.
