The Director of Business Development – Cell Therapy will drive business growth strategies with a specialized focus on human biological raw materials, cell sourcing, and regulatory compliance in cell therapy processes. This role requires a strategic leader with deep scientific knowledge and the ability to oversee cross-functional project implementation to ensure successful execution. As the company’s SME, the candidate will provide insight into process development, infrastructure needs, and resource planning, guiding Bio Supplies in building capabilities necessary for success in cell therapy.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Business Development Strategy
- Lead the development of a business strategy for cell therapy, emphasizing human biological raw materials, cell sourcing, and therapeutic applications.
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities to expand our influence and revenue in the cell therapy space.
- Conduct thorough market analysis to keep our strategy aligned with industry trends and competitive dynamics.
- Subject Matter Expertise (SME) and Capability Building
- Serve as the Bio Supplies' SME on human biological raw materials, advising on required processes, resources, and best practices in cell therapy.
- Assess current capabilities and provide recommendations on infrastructure needs, such as facility construction or resource allocation, to support business goals.
- Guide internal stakeholders on critical areas of development, including cell sourcing standards, lab capabilities, and other operational requirements.
- Project Management Oversight
- Oversee the project management aspects of business development initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and efficient execution.
- Provide guidance on setting milestones, tracking progress, and making adjustments to meet business goals, rather than managing individual projects.
- Support teams in translating strategic goals into actionable plans that align with regulatory and market demands.
- Regulatory and Compliance Leadership
- Ensure compliance with FDA, EMA, and other relevant regulatory guidelines related to human biological raw materials in cell therapy.
- Lead the development of policies and processes to navigate regulatory challenges in the cell therapy space.
- Keep teams informed of regulatory updates and best practices to maintain compliance.
- Strategic Partnerships and Client Relations
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers, clients, and industry stakeholders.
- Represent the company as a trusted resource and primary contact for clients in the cell therapy industry, along with the sales team.
- Work with sales and marketing teams to effectively communicate our value proposition.

- Bachelor degree in Life Sciences, Cell Biology, Biochemistry required
- Bachelor degree required and 10 years of related experience or Master with 8 years
- 8-10 years of business development experience in cell therapy or related biotechnology fields, with a focus on human biological raw materials and cell sourcing
- Proven expertise in assessing and advising on infrastructure and resource needs in cell therapy, including lab capabilities and other technical requirements
- Strong regulatory knowledge, with an understanding of FDA, EMA, and other relevant guidelines in cell therapy
- Demonstrated ability to build strategic plans and execute them to achieve measurable business outcomes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and foster partnerships
- Knowledge and application of work standards (GMP, PNT, INS, BPL, etc...) according to defined procedures
- Compliance with records, if any
- Monitoring of established quality, safety, hygiene and environmental standards
- Inform the direct manager of any incident in the normal development of their work
- Carry out the tasks of lower professional groups, if necessary

Pay Scale:
The estimated pay scale for the Director Business Development, Cell Therapy role based in the United States (non-California), is $170,000.00-$220,000.00 per year. Additionally, the position is eligible to participate in the company bonus pool. For California:
The estimated pay scale for the Director Business Development, Cell Therapy role based in San Francisco, San Carlos or Emeryville, California, is $190,000.00- $250,000.00 per year.
The estimated pay scale for the Director Business Development, Cell Therapy role based in all other cities in California is $180,000.00 - $240,000.00 per year.
