We are looking for an enthusiastic Director, Business Development to join our dynamic Business Development team. If you're someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves tackling new challenges, then this is the perfect opportunity for you.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Director, Business Development will be responsible for the overall strategic management of Adalvo's pipeline portfolio products, in line with Adalvo's B2B strategy.

ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE

This role will report directly to the VP, Business Development and is based in Germany.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Licensing out Adalvo's pipeline and portfolio products in the designated territory and to the selected multinational clients.
  2. Strategy development and implementation in the context of Adalvo's B2B strategy.
  3. Developing strong expertise around differentiated generics, oral oncology product, soft-gels, hormones, ER products, etc., and if necessary aligning specific USPs with dedicated customer portfolio.
  4. Analyzing resource/return aspects carefully and leveraging from resources and programs to achieve maximum value from each selected deal.
  5. Development of new customers, expansion of existing customers as well as development of licensing and partnership concepts in the context of Adalvo strategy.
  6. Cultivate close partner relations.
  7. Selectively target and build relationships with industry leaders (e.g., distributions or generic partners to negotiate licensing and supply deals).
  8. Developing and negotiating new Licensing and Supply Agreements in line with the Adalvo targets and objectives.
  9. Continuous review and optimization of processes within the responsible area and interfaces to other functional areas.
  10. Analyzing and being aware of the decision-making mechanisms and decision maker stakeholders at the respective target customer ensuring 360-degree analysis of each respective client.
  11. Pitch convincing business plans to the board in a clear and concise manner.
  12. Participation in inter-functional project teams and closely following the status of pipeline products in close communication with the R&D team.
  13. Preparation of Business Cases for each licensing deal to ensure inter-functional alignment and the highest benefit from each potential licensing deal based on NPV targets of Adalvo.
  14. Being very close to the market and monitoring respective trends and customer requests and feeding this information back into the portfolio department or respective functions in the organization.
  15. Being profit-minded and partner-oriented when it comes to difficult situations to turn those into great benefits and advantages for Adalvo.
  16. Entrepreneurial character and attitude is the key personality required for the candidate in order to match with the corporate identity of Adalvo.
  17. Able to work independently and even under pressure in an ambiguous start-up atmosphere.
  18. Representing Adalvo in the respective partnering events such as Europlx, CPHI, PharmaVenue, etc.
  19. Continuous self-education with regard to Adalvo's portfolio and technology platforms to meet customer requests when it comes to product-specific questions in close alignment with the internal functions.
  20. Thinking strategically rather than opportunistically and carefully identifying real opportunities while quantifying the added value.
  21. Planning and execution of own working trips in close alignment with the respective team members and internal functions.
  22. Ensuring compliance with all legal regulations and rules.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  1. 7 years’ experience in the Generic Business Development and Licensing environment.
  2. Preferably possess Biosimilars Out-Licensing Experience.
  3. Has an existing strong network and a proven track record of tangible, commercial success.
  4. Good understanding of various regional market dynamics.
  5. High level influencing and negotiation skills.
  6. Effective communication skills with a good command of English.
  7. Flexibility to travel when necessary.
