For the department Software and FPGA FW Engineering we are looking for a development engineer (m/f/d) FPGA at the Ulm site as soon as possible.

The department develops FPGA firmware for use in military systems, among other things. The spectrum includes the development of standard interfaces and the implementation of complex algorithms in radar, EW, and avionics products of our company.

The job holder (m/f/d) is responsible for the following activities and tasks:

• Conception and implementation of FPGA designs especially for electronic warfare applications
• Optimization and implementation of signal processing algorithms in VHDL and C
• Verification of the design and functional tests in hardware
• Testing and commissioning the functions on the target hardware
• Collaboration in system integration, verification and qualification
• Creation of design, requirements and verification documentation

Requirements

• Good communication skills in cross-departmental cooperation
• Independent working style, coordination and integration skills, assertiveness
• Ability to integrate into a team
• High sense of responsibility, ability to work under pressure and organizational skills

Degree course

• Comparable qualification at least Bachelor's degree program or
• Electrical engineering at least Bachelor's degree program or
• Completed degree in communications engineering

IT

• MS-Office at least knowledge of detailed functions

Language Skills

• German at least business fluent
• English at least advanced

Professional Experience

• First professional experience in the design and development of FPGAs

Knowledge of

• Very good knowledge of VHDL and FPGA architecture as well as digital circuit technology required
• Experience with FPGA vendor tools (preferably AMD/XILINX)
• Experience with Siemens EDA (formerly MENTOR Graphics) tools such as HDL Designer, QuestaSim
• Experience with high-level synthesis and relevant tools such as Vivado HLS
