About the team: Process Analytics & Mining

The way we work

We keep things open, agile, and communicative. Our team members are self-organized within their teams, working on independent projects or closely with Product Leads, developers, and UX designers.

Position Overview

You will be working in our empowered, agile cross-functional team, responsible for SAP Signavio's Process Analytics & Mining data mining product. The scope of this product is to analyze data generated by our customers' processes and allow companies to gain an understanding of how their processes are performing and how they could optimize them.

What you will do:

1. Concept and implement our analytical in-memory query engine built for Process Mining workloads in a multi-tenant public cloud environment.
2. Enhance our current algorithms to ensure fast execution time suitable for a great user experience even for very large event logs.
3. Operate the query engine service in our SaaS environments based on Kubernetes and Docker.
4. Enhance and support our querying language for user-facing controls of data mining.
5. Reliability, scalability, cost, and fast response time are driving KPIs.
6. Adopt the mantra of you build it, you run it.
7. Collaborate with other engineers as well as data scientists on technical decisions and innovation.
8. Work in a fully independent and empowered Agile team.

What you bring:

1. Working experience with large-scale data and underlying algorithms for analytics.
2. An understanding of data storage, JIT query compilation, CPU cache pipelines, GPU computing, and compression techniques.
3. First experience in high performance computing.
4. A passion for working on complex software architectures.
5. Can communicate on a business level in English.
6. Good to have: a master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or the equivalent through a combination of education, training, and related work experience.
7. Nice to have: working knowledge of C++ or Rust.
