Data Scientist for Probabilistic Modelling and Phenotyping (all genders)
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- You will push the boundaries of state-of-the-art Machine Learning approaches in Plant Phenotyping research, focusing on uncertainty estimation for Active and Continual Learning.
- You will design, develop, and implement Active Learning strategies for an optimized screening process.
- You will act as a bridging partner between our Crop Science and Pharmaceuticals Divisions as part of a Life Science Collaboration.
- You will collaborate closely with experimental units to translate data into tangible project impact.
- You will drive continuous improvements in methodologies and processes through your expertise and experience, and by partnering with Bayer’s scientists across organizational units.

- You hold a PhD in (Computational) Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or related fields.
- You have a strong background in Statistics, Probabilistic Modelling, or Active Learning.
- You have experience developing and applying machine learning approaches, including deep learning.
- You are highly motivated and curious to learn experimental processes, novel mathematical approaches, and Life Science R&D at an industrial scale.
- You have strong analytical thinking and a scientific mindset, and you are ready to challenge the status quo.
- You have demonstrated the ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- You have very good expertise in Python.
- Fluency in both written and spoken German and English rounds off your profile.
