Data Scientist / Bioinformatician (m/f/d)
Full-time | fixed-term contract | a competitive salary (TV-L) | Biocenter at University of Wuerzburg
The Collaborative Research Centre 387 (SFB/CRC 387) is an interdisciplinary research network focused on finding new approaches for tumor treatment through a better understanding of the ubiquitin system. SFB/CRC 387 will start on 1 October 2024 and will be funded for four years (with the option to extend for a further eight years) by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The SFB/CRC brings together 38 PIs at seven research sites across Germany. At all participating locations, the SFB/CRC 387 teams are well embedded in an outstanding scientific environment, with access to state-of-the-art technologies, well-equipped laboratories, a lively scientific exchange and an internationally competitive scientific training program.
The CRC will employ three data scientists to support the research groups in the analysis and management of research data. The research projects within the CRC combine data-rich methods to generate proteomic, genomic, chemical as well as imaging data from pathology and high-end microscopy. The three data scientists will jointly develop a CRC-specific research data management policy and will manage, organize and provide support and training to all CRC researchers to ensure open and FAIR access to data.
The data scientist located at the Biocentre at University of Wuerzburg will be part of the Imaging Core Facility and the Chair of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (Head: Martin Eilers) and will focus on the computational analysis of high content microscopy data. They will
