We’re looking for fintech enthusiasts to join us in creating the financial infrastructure of tomorrow. We’re building the first European Investment API to enable any financial institution offering a wide range of efficient and transparent investment products, such as stocks and ETFs in nominal, portfolio, and fractional form. We’re based in Berlin but are also open to hiring remotely in Germany or Estonia for this role. If you're currently based elsewhere but would like to move to Germany, we’re happy to support your relocation.
Your mission:
We are currently embarking on conquering the European investment landscape. Upvest will roll out its product offering across the European Economic Area. In this regard, the Legal team plays a crucial role in connection with preparing, organizing and operating the rollout by way of using the European freedoms while at the same time complying with specific local regulation. Upvest Legal also contributes to the firm's expansion by keeping track and managing its contractual relationships with End Users, Clients and Vendors.

Independently assess and implement necessary legal changes in data protection agreements, ensuring compliance with the GDPR and the UK GDPR.
Provide internal guidance on data privacy regulations, including the GDPR and UK GDPR, and the requirements for data protection agreements.
Provide internal advice on ethical standards in AI and the legal requirements of the AI Act.
Ensure that all AI-related activities comply with the AI Act requirements.
Support in the monitoring and compliance with regulatory requirements and standards related to Outsourcing Controlling.
Preparation of data and analyses as part of the reporting process for Outsourcing Controlling.

Job requirements:
At least two years relevant work experience and a strong interest in data protection, AI projects, outsourcing control, and emerging technologies
Strong project management capabilities
Willingness to work in a demanding and dynamic intellectual environment
Excellent analytical skills and a structured, independent approach to work
Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts in a clear and understandable manner
