Data Engineer (M / F / D)

PAYBACK is the world’s leading multipartner loyalty program. We have a broad range of products, which we plan and implement in the heart of Munich.

In the Data Engineering team, you can work with a large amount and variety of data and help us improve by utilizing this data correctly in Germany, Poland, Italy and Austria.

We are aiming for a modern cloud-based data platform on GCP, utilizing state-of-the-art services. In parallel, we keep existing processes running on-premise until they are fully migrated.

YOUR TASKS

1. You are responsible for the development, but also for the operation of our services in the cloud.
2. You analyze, understand and accompany the requirements from the idea to the end-of-life (DataOps).
3. You contribute to the design of the solution, which includes development, testing and documentation.
4. You carry out analyses and research to solve complex business problems.
5. You will work as a member of your cross-functional agile team with internal stakeholders from across the organisation to develop best-in-class data products and KPIs using existing data assets.

YOUR PROFILE

1. You have several years of professional experience as a data engineer or in a similar position.
2. You are a clean programmer with an agile mindset and love DataOps.
3. You preferably have solid knowledge of Google Cloud Services and Terraform.
4. You have experience with Oracle SQL and Spark as well as knowledge of modern Python.
5. You are used to dealing with mass data.
6. You are characterized by a high level of quality awareness, trustworthiness and interest in new technologies.
7. You can work independently in an agile cross-functional team.
8. Good to have : Spark, Oracle PL/SQL, Airflow, Jenkins, OpenShift, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Java, Kafka.
