Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking to hire a highly motivated, customer-obsessed professional to provide hands-on support to our Data Center Infrastructure Operations team across the Frankfurt Cluster as a Data Center Security Manager (DSM). You will be tasked with running day-to-day data center security operations, supporting and executing security projects and programs, as well as assuring audit compliance with global AWS policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage contract guard force to run daily data center operations.
  • Handle site security incidents, escalations or any other security related issues.
  • Provide after-hours on-call management support and participate in emergent, large scale event response when needed.
  • Participate in recurring data center security audits and reviews.
  • Execute established compliance processes with AWS policies, standards, guidelines and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide input on, and may develop security methodologies, policies and procedures.
  • Write reports and communicate with management on the status of physical security operations.
  • Oversee new security construction or retrofit projects.
  • Manage the security P&L for assigned site(s), assist management with financial analysis and contribute to financial decisions for security requirements.
  • Collaborate with other teams to protect AWS Data Center personnel, information and assets.

The successful applicant will receive comprehensive onboard training as well as continuous support from a local and regional security team. You will also have opportunities to collaborate and engage with various teams across the globe.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Ability to walk a facility and observe security gaps in physical barriers, security officer procedure, policies, surveillance equipment, and alarm points.
  • Drive campaigns to reduce nuisance alarms.
  • Experience with workflow ticketing and extraction of performance metrics.
  • Investigate accidents, thefts, disturbances, discrepancies.
  • Oversee physical security subcontractors that provide guards, electronic security systems, door construction, door repair, fencing, and access controls.
  • Distill overarching security strategy into daily tactics to reach management goals.
  • Oversee security construction projects.
  • Teach others the proper security processes and methods.
  • Protect sensitive data and assets by monitoring data in motion, in use and at rest.
  • Implement and manage data loss prevention technologies for on-premises access control & CCTV systems.
  • Write reports and communicate with management on the status of physical security operations.
  • Triage events and assess suspicious activities related to data loss.
  • Support Incident Response teams in data loss related investigations.
  • Map data security flow diagrams to provide visibility on where sensitive data lies and how it’s adequately secured.
  • Conduct data security assessments to ensure and validate the security posture of the organization.
  • Provide direction and guidance on reports and analyses and ensure recommendations are aligned with customer/business needs and capabilities.
  • Act as data security advisory and establish strong relationships with other data functions within the organization (data privacy, governance and management).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in security or related fields, i.e., logistics, transportation, facilities.
  • 3+ years of commercial or industrial work experience.
  • Proficient English verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Member of a security professional body.
  • Security specific qualifications and/or proof of continued personal development.
