Cyber Security Engineer (m/w/d)

We are looking for

an experienced Cyber Security Engineer (m/f/d) to strengthen our Information Security team! In this role, you will focus on critical areas such as incident response and take proactive and reactive cyber security measures. In this way, you will make an important contribution to the development and implementation of a comprehensive, long-term security strategy in connection with cyber threats.

Your profile

Hard Skills:

• Completed degree or education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience in Cyber Security or Information Security and familiar in identifying, resolving vulnerabilities, and managing security measures.
• Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems, network protocols, and security technologies (firewalls, intrusion detection, antivirus).
• Knowledge of optimizing security standards using cybersecurity frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK), scripting (Python), and industry-standard tools (OWASP ZAP, Microsoft Defender, Sentinel).
• Advanced knowledge in digital forensics and Incident Response (IR) for threat investigation and mitigation.
• Understanding of securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including Identity and Access Management (IAM), network security, and familiarity with cloud-native security tools and practices.
• Nice to have: Experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Microsoft Sentinel, as well as managing, and responding to security alerts for an organization.

• Approach data analysis and identify patterns in complex systems logically and methodically with an analytical mindset.
• Attention to detail to ensure that even small security gaps do not go unnoticed.
• In the event of security incidents, remain calm and focused.
• Think "outside the box" and creatively when it comes to identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Nice to have: Ability to clearly convey technical issues and solutions to non-technical stakeholders is critical in cybersecurity.

Your tasks

• Provide advice to our Head of Information Security on the development, implementation and overseeing of the company's information security strategy.
• Handle critical vulnerabilities in our IT environment with confidence.
• Manage our Security Operation Center (SOC).
• Plan and implement preventive and reactive measures to safeguard against security incidents.
• Evaluate and implement new security measures, security processes and security systems.
• Perform penetration tests and security analyses and coordinate with the Information security team on applications, security guidelines, best practices and emergency plans.
• Create reports, prepare briefings and awareness among employees.
