About our client
Our client is a successful investment firm that manages the wealth of a renowned German family foundation. They are currently seeking a Controller, with additional responsibilities in treasury, to join their team and support them on their exciting journey. Their collaboration is characterized by teamwork, flat hierarchies, trust, reliability, and quick decision-making. The position is based in the Hamburg area, Germany.

What the job involves

• Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts for multiple international companies
• Conduct actual vs. budget comparisons and variance analyses
• Perform short and long term liquidity planning for various companies
• Prepare ad-hoc analyses and reports/presentations for internal and external stakeholders
• Support the development and optimization of controlling tools and processes
• Assist in evaluating and reporting on investments
• Build databases with key figures related to investments, returns, and cash flows
• Coordinate with external service providers and act as a sparring partner for their valuation approaches
• Cash management
• Assist in monitoring financial investments (stocks, bonds, money market funds)
• Prepare transactions/trades for securities, currencies, loans, and capital calls, including direct communication with banks and asset managers

Who we are looking for

• University degree in finance, economics, business studies or a related discipline
• Several years of experience either in banking, controlling or audit at a Big 4 firm
• Prior exposure to company valuations is beneficial, as well as experience in an asset management or PE firm
• Excellent analytical skills and a strong affinity for numbers
• High degree of loyalty, reliability, and confidentiality
• Independence, responsibility, diligence, teamwork, and quality awareness
• Strong MS Office skills (especially Excel, ideally Power BI)
• Experience with LucaNet and Nomentia is advantageous
• Fluent in German and English
