Skeleton's Scale-Up department is looking for a driven Construction & Permit Engineer (m/f/x) with the vision to match our ambition!

We are looking for an experienced Construction & Permit Engineer (m/f/x) who truly believes that the world needs Special Forces to fight climate change and reduce CO2 emissions.

What you'll do:

  1. Be responsible for applying and obtaining construction, environmental and operational permits for the Curved Graphene production plant with the support of a 3rd party permitting expert.
  2. Proactively manage external stakeholders and propose solutions for speeding up the permitting and construction works.
  3. Do forecasting and tracking of permits, construction budget and schedule. Then reporting and escalating it to the Head of Scale-up.
  4. Prepare and deliver presentations to the authorities and other permitting stakeholders.
  5. Formulate technical specifications and RFQs for the building contractor selection with the support of an external plant engineering office.
  6. Manage and supervise building contractor(s) during construction works.
  7. Sometimes travel to meet with construction and permitting partners/authorities.

Requirements

To succeed in this position, you'll need:

  1. 3 years experience in permitting and/or construction and civil engineering framework.
  2. Strong oral and written communications skills (German and English required).
  3. Ability to communicate and negotiate across contractors, authorities, internal stakeholders etc.
  4. Basic knowledge of German construction regulatory and permitting requirements (BauO, BImSchV, BImSchG) and relevant external stakeholders.
  5. Basic understanding of environmental sensitivities in an existing chemical park and chemical plant engineering.
  6. Proficient technical report writing skills.
  7. Ability to recognize potential permitting issues and contribute actively in solving problems.
  8. Building and Construction - Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction of buildings, preferably for powder- and gas-processing chemical plants.
  9. Ability and keenness to learn and develop new skills.
  10. Experience in obtaining construction and environmental permits in Germany and/or work as a construction site specialist/manager is highly preferred.
  11. Basic ability to evaluate plant engineering and construction works for correctness.
  12. Understanding of construction contracting and contractor management (including budget and schedule management).
