Commercial & Technical Co-Founder for a Pre-Seed Startup (Entrepreneur in Residence) - Remote/Berlin

Beam is a Berlin-based startup company builder with a bias for (intra-)logistics and technical challenges. We are supported by BEUMER Group – a family business and one of the world’s leading intralogistics companies. European logistics companies turn over more than €1,300B annually, making logistics the fourth largest industry in Europe. Startups are only beginning to scratch the surface of the transformation made possible by applying software to business problems, and Beam is a part of this change.

WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON

Manufacturers face lengthy, manual processes when deciding where to localize or relocate production facilities. Factors like labor costs, real estate, tax incentives, and supply chain infrastructure require extensive analysis, often involving siloed data and cross-functional teams.

Our vision is to create a tech-driven solution—leveraging AI, geospatial visualization, and automation—to streamline these decisions, saving companies weeks or months while ensuring strategic accuracy.

As co-founders, you will lead the company from zero to one, taking ownership of this ambitious vision. We’re looking for one Commercial Co-Founder and one Technical Co-Founder to bring complementary skills to the table.

1. Develop and refine the business model, pricing strategies, and go-to-market plan.
2. Build and lead Sales, Marketing, and Finance functions, including fundraising efforts.
3. Engage with potential customers in logistics, manufacturing, and supply chain sectors to validate and scale the product.
4. Lead product development and oversee technical architecture to build a scalable platform.
5. Integrate AI and geospatial tools to create a best-in-class decision-making solution.

YOU'LL BE THE PERFECT MATCH IF

Commercial Co-Founder:

• B2B sales expertise in logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain.
• Experience building or scaling startups or entrepreneurial leadership within a larger organization.
• An extensive network in logistics or related industries.
• Fundraising experience is a plus.

Technical Co-Founder:

• Strong background in software engineering, AI/ML, or geospatial analytics.
• Proven track record of leading technical teams or startups.
• Experience integrating advanced tools like Natural Language Processing, automation, or data visualization.
• Hands-on builder with an entrepreneurial mindset.

• You will receive a monthly stipend of 2,500 € (gross)--with the opportunity to increase based on the successful completion of performance metrics--to help you concentrate on your validation fully.

WHY SHOULD YOU NOT CHOOSE BEAM

• Beam won't suit active students, as the time commitment is more than a full-time (intense) job - and needs full attention. We'd love to hear from you once you've finished your studies and have the work experience described above.
• Beam is based in Berlin; we're actively seeking entrepreneurs across the EU and ideally in Germany, so not suitable outside of the region.
