Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Your role

At eduBITES, we are building a premium AI-powered learning experience platform, revolutionizing how companies capture, transform, and deliver knowledge. We are looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology strategy, architecture, and product innovation from our Berlin headquarters (hybrid role with office attendance required).

As CTO, you will take ownership of our technical vision, lead a team of engineers, and drive the scalability, security, and AI-driven innovation of our platform. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires expertise in AI, backend and frontend development, cloud architecture, and product management.

We are looking for an experienced leader who can drive growth and execution from day one.

Responsibilities

1. Technology Leadership & Architecture: Define and execute eduBITES’ technical strategy, ensuring a scalable and secure infrastructure.
2. AI & Product Innovation: Oversee the AI integration (LLMs, synthetic media, voice cloning) to enhance our Transformation Suite and Knowledge Capture technologies.
3. Backend Development: Drive development using AWS Lambda, AppSync, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and Python.
4. Frontend Development: Lead the frontend team using Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS, and ensure a seamless user experience.
5. Product & Engineering Management: Collaborate with the product team to translate business goals into a scalable technical roadmap.
6. Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering team, fostering a strong culture of innovation and execution.
7. Security & Compliance: Ensure adherence to ISO27001, GDPR, and cloud security best practices.
8. Operational Excellence: Optimize development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud performance monitoring.
9. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO, product managers, and customers to shape the product vision.

Your profile

1. 7+ years in software development, including 3+ years in a leadership role (CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Tech).
2. Proven experience building and scaling SaaS platforms.
3. Experience with Serverless Architecture.
4. AI/ML experience with Azure OpenAI API (GPT-4, Whisper, embeddings).
5. Strong backend expertise: Python, AWS Lambda, GraphQL, API Gateway, DynamoDB.
6. Strong frontend experience: Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS.
7. Deep understanding of AWS architecture, cloud security, and CI/CD best practices.
8. Product management experience, working closely with cross-functional teams to align technology with business goals.
9. Strong team leadership experience, with a track record of hiring, mentoring, and managing engineers.
10. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to execute and deliver quickly in a fast-paced environment.
11. Fluent in English (German is a plus).
12. Valid work visa & Berlin residency required (hybrid office attendance).
