A leading global provider of automated med tech/ lab automation equipment is seeking a Global Head of Research & Development to drive innovation across multiple business units.

About the Role

This strategic leadership role will focus on aligning R&D efforts, optimising resource allocation, and ensuring the development of cutting-edge solutions that enhance customer experience and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Lead the global R&D strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Oversee project prioritisation, resource management, and budget planning for innovation initiatives.
• Standardise engineering and development processes, ensuring consistency across the group.
• Work closely with sales and key clients to develop tailored, market-driven solutions.
• Drive efficiency and cost optimisation, exploring opportunities for streamlining and centralisation.
• Manage change and stakeholder alignment, ensuring buy-in across global R&D teams.
• Make critical decisions on product roadmaps, including enhancements, modifications, and discontinuations.

Qualifications

Proven experience in global R&D leadership, preferably within laboratory automation, analytical instruments, or high-tech manufacturing.

Required Skills

• Strong track record in managing multi-site R&D teams and aligning innovation with commercial objectives.
• Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration, balancing technical, strategic, and business priorities.
• Experience with budget management, process standardisation, and driving operational efficiency.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate complex decision-making across business units.
