Joining the Microsoft Germany team as National Technology Officer, you will be one of the leading voices of how technology, business and societal opportunities together fuel the current fundamental business transformation in your country. With customers, government elites, partners, and key societal stakeholders and within Microsoft, you will lead the discussions on the benefits and impact of technology and be a role model and leading expert on AI, cloud, and business transformation, with a profound skill set on how customers and government stakeholders execute their vision and manage their risks and how to address related questions. With a proven track record, you will inspire senior executives of customers and tech policy elites in government with a compelling technical vision – leading to an acceleration of the business transformation of Microsoft and industries.

In this role, you need to be an inspirational leader on the transformational power of technology. You enjoy and strive in complex situations, have a perpetual growth mindset, combined with a long-term strategic view for your country and the company. You need to have a comprehensive understanding of contemporary developments of businesses, organizational models, technology developments, technology policy and societal implications and the interactions of these. This role is flexible in that you can work from home [up to 50%], but with a strong external engagement and a frequent Microsoft onsite required component.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with the German Leadership Team (GLT) and external leadership teams and discuss the technology landscape of the country as a technical thought leader. Advise and influence the GLT on industry and technology trends.
• Act as a spokesperson for Microsoft to build and maintain public relations. Give speeches or address media coverage on technologies or security and privacy domains and their impact, and share best practices with National Technology Officers (NTOs) in other countries.
• Promote the demand for skills on new or upcoming technologies to ensure internal readiness, customer/partner skilling, and/or government elites. Identify and lead advanced learning themes on identified thought leadership topics before programmatic internal material is available.
• Identify, engage and build networks to collaborate on market research, content of programs, and stay current on novel technologies. May drive the engagement with Microsoft Research community.
• Act as trusted advisor on how customers and partners experience leading edge cloud & AI technologies, like privacy, security, compliance, sovereignty and how to execute these risk management processes.
• Lead the Responsible AI activities within Microsoft Germany.

• Master's Degree or Doctorate Degree in a related field.
• 6+ years working across multiple disciplines/domains (e.g., security technology, legal/privacy).
• Certification related to security (e.g., Certified Information Systems Security Professional).
• 5+ years people/project management experience working with cross-functional teams.
