In-person mobility
Open for: Individuals / Organisations & Collectives, Artists, Performing Arts
Chamäleon Berlin is now calling for applications from international artists in contemporary circus or physical theatre to work for three weeks in their rehearsal space in Berlin, between 1 March and 15 April 2025. Applications must contain no more than two artists, with at least one based outside of Germany. Solo projects will only be considered from international applicants.
The residency aims to support courageous circus projects that follow open creative processes and find compelling points of intersection with other strands of the performing arts. They encourage applications from artists and groups that aim to shed light on social, political, and ecological issues. In this way, they hope to strengthen the thematic diversity of new circus projects.
As a cultural organisation, Chamäleon aims to enable fairer access to the art form and therefore particularly encourages artists who have experienced discrimination to apply.
Applicants must be professionally producing artists/groups with at least one performed project, and the residency project should be at the beginning of the research or creative development process (i.e., no revivals or final rehearsals).
