Our client is a successful manufacturing company.

Position profile

The primary objective of the CFO is to lead and oversee all aspects of Controlling, Finance and Accounting, as managed in the assigned geography.

The role directly collaborates with the Group CFO, to ensure alignment with Group Finance framework, and quality and consistency in the data provided to Company Management and to authorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Controlling, Finance and Accounting staff in managing all critical processes, including: planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, transaction and bank statement review, revenue collection, invoicing, monthly close, internal financial reporting, major annual milestones, such as the organizational budget, financial audit, and tax compliance, and extraordinary projects to ensure alignment to regulations, internal policies and timelines.
  • Interact with Group Finance for IFRS and management accounting reporting for consolidation purposes at Corporate level.
  • Responsible for the local adoption of the finance and accounting policies issued by the Parent Company and of their alignment to local regulations.
  • Responsible for effective internal controls and financial reporting, in compliance with international standards, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), local GAAP and Company policies.
  • Regularly monitor and report the company’s overall income and expenditure against budgets, advising the Management Team and Parent Company of any variations to budgets and other fiscal issues.
  • Contribute to strategic cost reduction and controlling initiatives to ensure the identification of potential improvement areas.
  • Provide guidelines to business functions for budget preparation and collection to ensure its accuracy and compliance with internal procedures.
  • Advise the management of Global Functions on the areas of improvement and strategic financial initiatives to ensure optimization of the Company’s resources and profit maximization.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the local independent auditors, tax advisors and has the ability to interpret, advise and provide informed recommendations to senior management as necessary.
  • Work with Group Finance in the preparation of financial reports and presentations for the Parent Company, to ensure timely and effective decision-making.
  • Responsible for the preparation and filing of all tax and information returns, ensure compliance and timely filing of the appropriate tax and information returns, with support of external advisors as needed.
  • Support local leadership in the accomplishment of the annual financial milestones and commitments, such as budgeting and forecasting.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for all projects driven by the Parent Company and involving the assigned geography.
  • Participate in identifying and implementing KPIs for finance, budget and control to provide relevant indicators and performance measurement and reporting capabilities.

Managerial accountabilities:

  • Lead enterprise initiatives and operating priorities within the context of function strategy, through the efficient and effective management of available resources.
  • Actively contribute to the implementation of the organizational changes required for strategy execution.
  • Manage talent for growth, identifying employees' current and potential skills and their development needs, collaborating in the definition and promotion of development plans in the current role, or for future roles. Monitor the progress of development paths and provide collaborators adequate feedback and corrective measures.

The role of the CFO is important for establishing the further development of the company, driving growth, and creating a strong market presence. It will be necessary to combine a deep understanding of finance principles, accounting and controlling expertise as well as the agility to adapt strategies as the company evolves.

This role demands strategic thinking, problem-solving and leadership skills, and the ability to drive growth.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles.
  • Proven track record of controlling and financial reporting.
  • Specialized knowledge and experience in IFRS and German GAAP.
