Ceramic Engineer (m/w/d)
Overview:
Kennametal Sintec seeks an outstanding talent to strengthen our technology team in Schongau as we continue to develop innovative products to better serve our customers and advance our company. Kennametal Sintec has full capacity to manufacture boron nitride-based ceramic products, from powders to composites to components. This position reports to our global technology organization, collaborates closely with manufacturing and sales teams, and leads projects that advance Kennametal technologies. The mission is to identify, develop, and pilot new opportunities or execute projects and initiatives that lead to the introduction of new materials, products, and processes.
The person in this position is responsible for conducting individual R&D projects, developing and managing existing and future technologies, integrating technology-based systems to improve products and processes, and executing cost and efficiency programs to reduce product costs.
The individual should be able to work well in a cross-functional team, interacting globally with other operating units within and outside of Kennametal (e.g., engineering, manufacturing, internal/external customers, external research institutions, etc.). Responsibilities include: identifying required resources internally, externally, and across disciplines; developing project plans; adhering to schedules, budgets, and project goals; leading or supporting the development of project outcomes and presenting them in project meetings; collaborating with the intellectual property department to secure non-disclosure agreements and ensure that new ideas are properly disclosed and patented or protected as trade secrets. This position is based at a manufacturing site.
