Business Unit / Role Specific Information

As an American Express Graduate, you will work together with your business unit and leaders to solve some of our most sophisticated business challenges. During the Graduate Program at American Express, you’ll work with different Consumer, Merchant, and Commercial teams and develop a variety of essential business skills, whilst also building a deep understanding of the Payments industry on a Global scale.

You’ll have the opportunity to challenge yourself across a variety of areas and develop a range of skills and networks, overseeing collaborative projects that deliver value to our business and customers, learn about our award-winning culture and network across our diverse business units and regions.

Our full-time Graduate Programme is a two-year rotational program designed to attract and develop diverse talent to be the future leaders of our organization. Each Graduate will spend 8 months across three diverse business areas, working on exciting projects aligned to the company’s strategic, operational and financial goals. The program will automatically convert into a full-time position at American Express.

What skills will you need?

• Successfully completed/completing a master's degree in 2025 in business or similar
• First work experience in Marketing, Sales and/or Business Development
• Very good written and spoken German and English skills - C1 level
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Interest in improving processes and various problem-solving approaches
• High level of self-motivation and the ability to lead and bring others along
• Excellent communication skills and solution-oriented action
• Analytical skills with an interest in quantitative and qualitative analysis
• Good project management skills and presentation techniques
• Team player with initiative and aplomb in goal-oriented exchanges

Recruitment Process

• Phone Screening will take place in January and February 2025
• First round interviews to take place between 03 March 2025 - 14 March 2025
• Discovery Day (Assessment Center) to take place on 26 March 2025
• Final Round Interviews with Vice President to take place 28 March 2025
