Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Business Support Manager to assist the CEO for Northern and Central Europe with a variety of operational and strategic initiatives. In this role, you will be instrumental in crafting communications for diverse stakeholders and ensuring the efficient coordination and seamless operation of the team.

This role requires you to be based in Germany or willing to relocate to Germany, where you will be assigned to one of our offices in Cologne or Oberkotzau. Please note that we do not provide relocation or moving cost assistance. Occasional travel to other Gamma offices, including those in the Netherlands, will also be necessary. We welcome applications from candidates who are already residing in Germany. Fluency or professional proficiency in German is required.

What will you be doing day-to-day?

  • Organise and attend team meetings alongside the CEO of Northern & Central Europe in Germany and the Netherlands; set up and develop suitable meeting structure and governance, coordinating with Group functions (Product, Technology, People, Finance, Business Planning), to align strategy across Europe with Group strategy.
  • Develop the agenda for regular team meetings and all-hands in the business unit, as well as ad hoc internal and external meetings.
  • Grow a deep understanding of the European business units, in order to drive key strategic discussion and decisions between appropriate stakeholders, both in the business unit and with Group functions.
  • Identify high level strategic actions from meetings, track them, assign them to suitable stakeholders, and ensure that these are followed up and executed on a timely basis.
  • Create a range of reports, including for monthly Business Unit Reviews, bringing together data and insights from inside and outside Gamma; use understanding of the business to take a lead on reporting and analysis priorities.
  • Partner with the CEO of Northern & Central Europe on all aspects of communication, including presentations, and internal and external engagements.
  • Own and manage ad hoc projects, turning an idea into a workable plan through research, analysis, investigation and networking.
  • Work closely with the Office of the CEO and UK Chief of Staff to ensure alignment with Group operations and to build relationships and buy-in for European priorities across the Group.
  • When needed, manage diary appointments and travel to maximise the effectiveness of the CEO of Northern & Central Europe’s time in each location and to ensure the most face-to-face meetings possible coincide with travel to various Gamma offices.

What you’ll need

  • Managing projects across the organisation and able to influence and interact effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Higher level digital/IT skills including advanced MS Office, creation of digital media and use of Power BI and the ability to create consultancy-level slides and presentations.
  • Numerate and analytical with demonstrable organisational ability.
  • Evidence of strong critical thinking and reasoning: able to take an idea to a proposal through research, investigation and insights.
  • Strong written communication skills, able to express ideas articulately and clearly.
  • Unquestionable integrity and discretion in being party to senior level and confidential discussions - the secondment will be terminated early where confidences are broken. The applicant will also need to ensure that all conversations remain confidential even when their secondment ends.
  • Confident and self- assured with good presence; at ease interacting with all levels within the organisation.
  • Strongly service-oriented, helpful and collaborative.
  • Intellectually curious, seeking to understand root cause of issues, avoiding drawing conclusions without proper analysis. Constantly seeking to add to and improve personal skills and knowledge.
  • Bias to action, with a sense of urgency and pace, responding quickly to situations and able to adjust priorities accordingly.
  • Able to work on own initiative, work independently, and take informed decisions if no direct guidance is on hand.
  • High attention to detail and conscientious, with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Calm under pressure and emotionally resilient.
  • Well-connected within Gamma, and able to build strong cross-functional relationships.

A few things to note

  • This is a hybrid role; we require you to be in one of our Germany offices at least 2-3 days a week.
  • We do not need agency support; we do all our recruitment in house.
  • Unfortunately, we can't offer visa sponsorship or relocation support for this role.

If you feel you could be a good fit for Gamma but do not think that you meet all the requirements, we still encourage you to apply as you could be the person that we are looking for! Gamma is an equal-opportunity employer. We care about inclusion and believe in having diverse teams where everyone can be their true authentic selves.

We value each person and their range of backgrounds and actively encourage people from underrepresented backgrounds to apply. We don't discriminate based on any protected characteristics e.g., race, colour, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, marital status, disability, or age. We are a family-friendly employer with a culture based on trust, autonomy, and flexibility so that you to create a work-life balance and enjoy working here at Gamma.
